Sean Astin Confirms The Goonies 2

Well this is pretty much the confirmation that The Goonies 2 is happening. We were in the big theater at Wizard World St. Louis and there was a 1-on1 with Sean Astin. The big news came at the end during the speed round of questions.

A fan asked him would he like to see a Goonies 2 movie made and have the kids be the adventurers this time, he said "yes". Then went to say how we should "expect it sooner than later." So we took it as sure it could happen but the next person for questions said that he got a tweet saying director Richard Donner just announced it's getting made. Astin then smiled and said "see I said it's sooner than later"

There you have it folks from 2 sources at separate places around the same time.

What are your thoughts on it?

More to come !

Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer is Here and its Oddly Awesome!!

Our wait is over!! Marvel Unvieled the first full trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy on Jimmy Kimmel Live! a little bit ago and it's oddly awesome in every way. Nothing like previous Marvel movies.

I'm really impressed by this movie and I find myself wanting to see it even more now because of it. The humor is great and takes great hold on the tone of the film in just the 2 min trailer. Don't get me wrong, the humor will throw some off...ok probably a lot off...but we have to give it a chance, just like Marvel Studios did getting it made.

Garth Ennis In "Early Stages" Of A Brand New 'Punisher' Mini-Series!

The Punisher is what got me into comics in the first place. The 2004 film with Thomas Jane drew me down to the local comic shop to get some issues. Fortunately Garth Ennis was doing the Punisher MAX series that was sooo amazing at the time, I literally have every issue. Great violent gritty real world series. Especially for a 13 year old right!? My parents were very protective of me. They were strict enough to let me go to sleep every night when I was 5 watching The Terminator 2. I know very protective but hey what can you do?

In a recent interview with comiXologist podcast, he stated "I will be starting work on another 'Punisher' miniseries quite soon, that'll probably come out sometime next year," Ennis said on the podcast. "That's at the very early stages."

I love that news so much! My favorite Punisher writer coming back to visit a character he added so much to and has been away from so much.

Are you excited as I am? I know you are!

Trailer for 'Gravity' Starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney!

Warner Bros. debuted the trailer for a film I've been waiting very (un)patiently for awhile now for Gravity. I wasn't let down at all! Alfonso Cuaron is a very talented director that can suck you into the world he created no problem. His latest film is very sic-fi, it's about an astronaut (Sandra Bullock) going through space alone after a accident on the spacecraft. George Clooney is also in the movie as another astronaut, but rumors have been going around that Bullock spends much of the film alone in isolation. This will sure show us how good she can be as an actress.

This film was delayed to spend time on special effects and I must say it was money and time well spent! The atmosphere this thing gives out was truly spectaular and I was holding on to my chair because I was afraid of heights! IMAX will be glorious if I'm pussing out over a 21" monitor in my room. (Yes, my room people, we don't get budgets on this site).

Check out the trailer and the poster below for Gravity opening in theaters October 4th

'Iron Man 3' Director Shane Black Signs on for 'Doc Savage'

Shane Black will stick around in the superhero realm for a little while longer now.

Sony announced today that Shane Black, who recently directed the hit Iron Man 3, will co-write and direct an adaptation of "Doc Savage", a film about on a pretty popular character from way back in the 30's and 40's.

Black has been hovering over this project for some time and has never fully attached himself to it until today. He has been really intrigued by the character and where he could take the man and his entourage.

No casting, release date, or anything really besides this as been announced. Check back soon!

First Trailer for Elysium is Amazing!

TriStar has released the first trailer for District 9 directors new film Elysium on Yahoo and I must say I'm geeking out like any other sci-fi fan out there. Neil Blomkamp knows his expertise is sci-fi and he has another film up his sleeve that is star powered (Matt Damon, Jodie Foster) and full of so much awesomeness.

In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined planet. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the crime and poverty that is now rampant throughout the land. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max (Matt Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission – one that pits him against Elysium's Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces – but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.

Here is the trailer for Elysium that hits theaters on August 9th

Comics: Does Batman Get Carrie Kelley as New Robin?!

This month was marketed early as being a WTF moment heavy and than those labels disappeared. I think its safe to say that this book was meant to have one of those labels. I'm sorry if I'm going to spoil what happened to Damian Wayne in Batman Incorporated #8, you are just slow at reading, but he died and Batman needs the other half of the dynamic duo. Speculation has run afar trying to piece who will take up the bird mantle, with guesses ranging from Harper Row (my guess) to a random return of Stephanie Brown (we all wish). Well maybe we found one! and I didn't see it coming at all.

NY Post did an article on the new Batman and Red Robin #19 and they reveal that the ginger girl in tights on the cover is exactly that! Carrie Kelley! Is she the new robin or is it a dream? Writer Peter Tomasi gives us answers sort of.

“This is not an alternate-earth Robin, this is simply a girl named Carrie Kelley, who we learn knew Damian, which in turn weaves her into the fabric of the DC Universe for the first time in 25 years. Said writer Peter Tomasi.

“What you'll find out once you crack the book, is that she's not exactly the ‘new Robin,’ but I don't want to spoil the story and her introduction into Bruce Wayne/Batman's life. In regards to how long she'll be around, let's just say that it's a helluva lot longer than ‘one issue.’ I've got plans for Carrie that play well into the future.”

I know everyone is thinking this is just a dream or a big stunt by DC to get that WTF Moment, but Peter says nope.

“It's all real,” he said. “It's all in continuity. It's all part of the Batman universe in the here and now. Carrie Kelley has found her way into The New 52 and she's here to stay - in what capacity is anybody's guess - except mine of course.”

What are your thoughts on the introduction of Carrie Kelley into New 52 continuity? She hasn't been in any other universe besides Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and it's sequel.

Trailer and Poster for 2 Guns released!

A lot of comic book adaptations come and go, with a few worthy of a good cast and story. 2 Guns is looking to be one of those movies coming out soon. The fantastic duo cast of Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, with the great story will for sure make this a must see.

For the past 12 months, DEA agent Bobby Trench (Washington) and U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman (Wahlberg) have been reluctantly attached at the hip. Working undercover as members of a narcotics syndicate, each man distrusts his partner as much as the criminals they have both been tasked to take down.

When their attempt to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel and recover millions goes haywire, Trench and Stigman are suddenly disavowed by their superiors. Now that everyone wants them in jail or in the ground, the only person they can count on is the other. Unfortunately for their pursuers, when good guys spend years pretending to be bad, they pick up a few tricks along the way.

2 Guns shoots into theaters on August 2nd

Christopher Nolan's Interstellar Coming To Theaters on November 7, 2014

Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount Pictures, together, announced that Christopher Nolan's original film Interstellar will be co-produced and distributed by them. They announced Interstellar will be released in theaters and IMAX on November 7, 2014.

Christopher Nolan recently completed his Dark Knight Trilogy and he was in need of a new project to work on, and here it is. Interstellar is an original idea based on a script by his brother Jonathan Nolan.

The plot is set to revolve around a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding. (mind blown on that one). Anything with Nolan is a must see on my list, but Nolan + Sci-Fi = can't wait to see this!!!

Comics: Batman/Superman Comic Returning for New 52

DC is finally bringing back one of the bigger books fans have been wondering if it will ever pop back up in the New 52. Batman/Superman has always been a reader favorite because of the interaction between DC's biggest heroes. USA Today broke the story that they plan on bringing it back this June with writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

Greg Pak is widely known to be a Marvel boy doing World War Hulk and X-Men, but he couldn't pass up the offer to take on a ongoing series of Batman and Superman. Also, Jae Lee has been fantastic doing Inhumans art. So expect a great team up here.

During the interview Pak stated "It is a real thrill, and it's particularly a thrill because we're being given some real leeway to do some really important storytelling with these characters. It really defines some great things and to depict some really key moments for them."

Pak is taking this book back to the very beginning. Back to when Superman became a hero for the first time rocking the jeans and t-shirt, than to the point where Batman and Superman meet for the first time. This is something big and sweet to finally see in the New 52. The first story arc will not only have a threat of evil, but these 2 guys figuring things out themselves. Interesting.

"What would your reaction be if you saw a guy running around in a bat costume in the dead of night attacking people for the first time? And what would your reaction be if you met an alien who could crush steel in his bare hands for the first time?"Pak continues "These guys are going to have very different immediate impressions of each other than we're used to seeing with these characters."

Expect great things in this new comic kicking off this June. I'll for sure be there to pick it up!

An Awesome New Star Trek Into Darkness Poster

Today is just full of poster getting released for next years big blockbusters and while the last one was a bit lackluster or unfinished feel to it (I won't say any names *cough* Superman *cough*), this Star Trek Into Darkness poster is very detailed and full of destruction! It reminds me of the posters for TDKR, but hey it was awesome so they can reuse it. It gives us many questions about what is going on because it appears to be taking place in London? I recognize that skyline anywhere *I really don't but someone told me and I shall trust that random person*. Check it out

Star Trek Into Darkness beams into theaters on May 17, 2013

New 'A Good Day To Die Hard' Trailer and Bad Poster

A new trailer and just horrendous poster for A Good Day to Die Hard is now online from sources iTunes Trailers and EW.

The trailer isn't horrible, but gives us some looks at the old McClane family having a great time together killing bad guys making jokes and not hugging it out. Also, I'm loving the horrible audio in beginning of trailer with them bleeping out the MotherF'r part (Yayy they allow him to say it!!). Still looks like a good movie though.

The poster on the other hand is just stupid. Yippee Ki-yay Mother Russia is a classic saying, I mean sounds fantastic. *sigh*. Just please don't allow him to say it in the movie…please.. I will walk out saying "Nope! Im done.)..

Since the first Die Hard in 1988, John McClane has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing, making him enemy #1 for terrorists the world over. Now, McClane faces his greatest challenge ever, this time on an international stage, when his estranged son Jack is caught up in the daring prison escape of a rogue Russian leader, and father and son McClane must work together to keep each other alive and keep the world safe for democracy.

Here is the trailer and poster for A Good Day To Die Hard hitting theaters on February 13, 2013

Pacific Rim Is Getting Converted to 3D Against del Toro's Wishes

Yep, you heard that right. Pacific Rim is getting converted to 3D under Warner Bros. authority. This will come as a shock to most of you because we heard from the man himself, Guillermo del Toro, that he is against 3D in this film. He noticeably said it at SDCC earlier this year saying:
“I didn’t want to make the movie 3D because when you have things that big, the thing that happens naturally is you’re looking at two buildings at 300 feet.  If you move, the buildings don’t go like this (moves his hands closer together), there’s no parallax.  They’re so big that you barely notice anything no matter how fast you’re moving, so to force the 3D effect on robots and monsters that are supposed to be that high, you’re making them miniaturized, you’re making them human-scale.  I knew that the 3D effect sounded like a great idea, but it was gonna be counter.”
So, unfortunately the studio will always get their way in the end to make more money. Since 3D cost more for a ticket it should be a bigger hit, especially overseas. This film is about giant robots and monsters fighting and set in some parts of Japan…big bucks to be made in the Asian markets.

The film will still be released in 2D along with 3D. So, hopefully del Toro works something out great to make the film work in 3D and still normal in 2D. I hate conversations that are horrible. Best of wishes to you del Toro.

What do you think about the change? Will you still see it?

Frank Darabont Developing L.A. Noir for TNT

After leaving the phenomenal drama/horror The Walking Dead after season 1, Frank must be dying to get a new show off the ground. Well he has found that project and it's for TNT. The show is an adaptation of a book called L.A. Noir by John Buntin. (not the game sorry fellow gamers) I am very excited to see him show running another great series soon.

Darabont will write and direct the pilot while being executive producer for the entire series. Pretty involved there aren't we Frank. I'm glad to see him back in full swing.

The series will follow a former police chief William Parker and mobster Mickey Cohen for control of the luchsious Los Angeles in the 40's and 50's. The time period will reflect "a world of glamorous movie stars, powerful studio heads, returning war heroes, a powerful and corrupt police force and an even more dangerous criminal network determined to make L.A. its West Coast base."

I can't wait to see this show whenever it hits the waves.

Robert Zemeckis Directing Timeless

I have hoped for a moment for years and the moment is the time when I hear that the Amazing director Robert Zemckis will return to making live-action films.  It seems my prayers have been answered.

Deadline is reporting that Director Robert Zemeckis is attached to direct a sci-fi film called Timeless.

Details on the project are nowhere in site, but it's said to be a time travel film idea pitched from Warner Bros. and Zemeckis is confirmed as director.

Timeless will mark the directors first time doing a live-action film since Cast Away back in 2000. Zemeckis has been very interested in his little hobby of doing performance capture animated films since then with films including:  The Polar Express (2004), Beowulf (2007), A Christmas Carol (2009) and the upcoming  The Yellow Submarine (2012)

The news just seems so right because it has the person who created and directed the time-travel film series Back To The Future way back in 1985. You just can't find a better director for this project.

Timeless has no release date for now but I can't wait for it.
