Javier Bardem Offered Role in Bond 23

Javier Bardem not Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Some interesting news about the recently announced James Bond 23 movie has made its way online. The phenomenal actor Javier Bardem has been offered a "major" role in the film. No details on who he will be, but everyone is leaning towards him being the villain, Including me. Also, it will mark the 2nd time a academy award winner will play a Bond villain. First actor was Christopher Walken in A View To Kill.

Bond 23 has no official plot details, yet. Although the story is reportedly set right after Quantum of Solace.

Bardem has previously been rumored to be offered a role in Ron Howard's adaptation of Steven King's The Dark Tower. The other major actor in the running was Christian Bale, but I think Bardem will take it. Maybe they should give one of the roles to Jeffery Dean Morgan if Bardem doesn't take both roles. I'm mostly serious.

Bond 23 will get released November 9th, 2012.

OFFICIAL: Henry Cavill is Superman

Warner Bros. announced that British actor Henry Cavill will play Clark Kent/Superman is Zach Snyders Superman reboot.

Press Release: Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Henry Cavill has won the coveted role of Superman, the iconic superhero.

The film will be directed by Zack Snyder, who stated, “In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen.  I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry.  He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield.”

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film.  The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan.  Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.

Cavill recently wrapped production on “The Cold Light of Day” and stars in the upcoming “Immortals,” opening this fall.

Targeted for release in December 2012, the new Superman movie will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

On a random note: It seems like only british actors can be superheroes. Chrisitan Bale/Batman, Andrew Garfield/Spider-Man, and now Henry Cavill/Superman. Pretty funny right.

Superman is scheduled for release in December 2012

Cameron Gives Avatar 2 and 3 Release Dates

Director James Cameron announced that Avatar 2 will be released Christmas 2014 with Avatar 3 being released Christmas 2015. Sounds way to far away.

Cameron told Entertainment Weekly "I am in the process of writing the next two ‘Avatar’ films now. We are planning to shoot them together and [edit them in post-production] together, and we will probably release them not quite back to back, but about a year apart.” That is actually the smartest thing to do with sequels. You will get the most money with them spaced out about a year.

Also, when asked about characters returning from the first one, he said “Basically, if you survived the first film, you get to be in the second film, at least in some form.” So, does that mean we will see Sigourney Weaver back?

Producer Jon Landau confirmed the earlier rumors that Avatar 2 will be mostly set in the Ocean, but not a full underwater movie. If it was an underwater movie, I would guess it to be like Cameron's The Abyss.

The best news is the second film will not end in a cliffhanger like previous back-to-back sequels have done so over and over. Thank god.

Avatar 2 will be released Christmas 2014 and Avatar 3 release will be Christmas 2015

(UPDATE) Keanu Reeves Gives Details on Matrix 4 and Other Projects

(UPDATE) The whole conversation this person had with Keanu Reeves never happened. ScreenRant.com said "The Senior Administrator for the London International School of Performing Arts informed me that Keanu Reeves made no appearance there." It was all a HOAX!! A pretty awesome one at that.

Keanu Reeves had a press conference for his new film Henry's Crime this weekend in London, England. He gave some new information on his upcoming projects. Some if not all are pretty shockingly awesome.

He talked about a project he is currently training for and it revolves around the world of a samurai. It will be a hard "R" rated 3D action feast with some amazing martial arts scenes. Sounds like an awesome project. He is currently 2 months into a 6 month training program. The project is almost certainly 47 Ronin. The film has Ken Watanabe (Inception) attached also. So wait for more on this later.

He then started to talk about the long awaited for Bill & Ted 3 movie. He only said he is committed to it to let some fans finally breath. I was even scared he would back out because he is the biggest actor from the duo.

Then the biggest news came when he said he had met with the Wachowski's over Christmas and they told them they have recently completed a two picture treatment that would allow Reeves to reprise the role of Neo. The brothers told them they met with James Cameron to discuss the pros and cons of filming it in 3D. They are looking to deliver something that has never been seen before. Reeves swears that the film will revolutionize the action film genre like the first one did back in 1999. He continued to say he will meet with them when they are finished with their latest film Cloud Atlas.

The last project he discussed wasn't even his own. He talked about The Wachowski's script Hood. He talked about how Warner Bros. paid $5 million for the script and rights to it. The brothers also told him the film will have the same impact that The Terminator 2 did technically and visually. The best part was how he confirmed that Will Smith has agreed to headline the film.

So there you have it. The Matrix 4 in 3D, Bill & Ted 3, 47 Ronin, and Hood. That is all most to much information.

Anthony Hopkins Might be Alfred Hitchcock

Sir Anthony Hopkins might just play the Master of Suspense and Thrillers Alfred Hitchcock in the adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho.

Sacha Gervasi is attached to direct the film with Paramount Pictures producing.

The films "tracks how Hitchcock, at the height of his game as a director, decided to make a 'lowly' horror movie. No studio wanted to touch it initially so Hitchcock scrounged for financing by himself." I like Hitchcock even more for doing something like that.

The film will mostly revolve around the relationship between Hitchcock and his wife Alma.

The film is getting closer to getting Hopkins on-board, but its still not official, yet. It takes a man like Hopkins to play a director in a film about behind the cameras.

War Machine Spin-Off in Development?

War Machine himself Don Cheadle was in attendance this weekend at Sundance Film Festival and MTV caught up to him and asked some questions about James Rhodes (War Machine) getting his own film.

When asked if we would end up seeing a War Machine spin-off he said "They're developing it now, they're working on that," he continued to say "I think they've hired a writer, so we'll see how it goes. It would be a lot of fun."

Also, when asked if we will see Rhodes in The Avengers he said "I don't think he shows up in (The Avengers)," Cheadle added. "I think he's kind of a lone wolf."

So look forward for War Machine in his own movie, but not in The Avengers. Sound good?

New X-Men: First Class Poster and Photos

Just hours after that not so stellar photo was released, they decided to release some new shots and a teaser poster. I like the recovery effort a lot.

The three images show some interesting shots of the cast, Very hot or icy January Jones and a very awkward chess game. The released poster does seem to be paying homage to the original X-Men poster back in 1999. It is cool and cliched that they did that.

X-Men: First Class fights into theaters on June 3, 2011

The rest of the awesome photos and Poster are after the jump. Check them out

Hi-Res X-Men: First Class Photos

I kept off on posting this photo because of rumors it was a fake, but a photo made its official debut online today and guess what? It's the same image. There were many doubts because of the off lighting, head to body ratio and January Jones basically naked.

The banner was released and then the higher-resolution photos came online. It doesn't look too much different. So, I guess I was fooled by some big shot Hollywood photoshop people into thinking it was fake. You guys got me. Honestly, it looks better in Hi-Res.

X-Men: First Class will get released on June 3, 2011

Anne Hathaway is Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy is Bane

I know it may be hard to take in all that (weird) information at once, but its all true.

Warner Bros. Pictures announced the news earlier today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle or aka Catwoman. I know some will have trouble accepting that casting, but if Nolan has a vision, then let him finish his series how he want to do it. I believe she could do really well and maybe get some praise for her role.

Also, they announced Tom hardy will play Bane. That was a shock because Bane is while not the most crazy villain in the Batman mythology, he is not the most realistic either. I hope Nolan and Goyer have something believable for the creation of Bane. It is pretty sweet that Badass Tom Hardy will play the man that broke Batman's spine in the comics, back in the day.

Here is the official press release:

BURBANK, CA, January 19, 2011 – Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises.” She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Christopher Nolan stated, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”

In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”

Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.

The Dark Knight Rises” is slated for release on July 20, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

First Look at COD: Black Ops' First Strike Map Pack

The first video evidence of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack First Strike has made its way online and it shows some pretty awesome and crazy levels.

The levels:

Kowloon: Based on the level from the campaign and was rebuilt from the ground up to be able to play multiplayer. The game features rooftop warfare and has numerous levels of roofs. Also, a cool addition is zip-lines that get you from rooftop to rooftop, but the bad thing is you are exposed with no weapon use.

Discovery: An Antarctic map based at a research station outpost that was left over from WWII. The level divided by a deep chasm with only a collapsable ice bridge connecting them. A pretty good sniper map with Nothing else seeming very interesting on the level.

Berlin Wall: Based at the Checkpoint Charlie area of Berlin. It is divided into the East and West sides. The combat is mostly longer range weapons because of longer range and high elevation areas. A cool and annoying feature is the No Mans Land full of auto turrets. You could cut a lot of time doing this, but risk dying very quick.

Stadium: Based in a ice hockey stadium and features close combat with great hiding spots. If your like me and prefer to be close to your enemy then your going to love this map. Plus is features a hockey rink.

The Zombie Map was not talked about and no news on that at this time.

First Strike will get released on Xbox 360 February 1st and no release date has been marked for PS3 and PC. I imagine it gets released when Second Strike gets released for 360 far in the future. That last part was a joke. (I Hope)

Actual Look At Chris Evans As Captain America

Here is the first actual look at Chris Evans as Captain America in full uniform. It looks pretty cool, but not as good as Spider-Man does in the latest photo of him. I will give a hand to the people that designed the new uniform because it must have been hard to make Captain America look realistic and not like a, well, comic-book character.

First Look at Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man!!

Columbia Pictures released the first image of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man! It was quite a surprise to get the image now, but it was very pleasant to see the costume. Garfield actually looks really awesome as Spider-Man. The costume does seem different than previous ones, but it is better then I thought it would end up looking.

In other Spider-Man news, veteran actor C. Thomas Howell has joined the spectacular cast of Spider-Man as a character named "Ray". Hopefully this will bring him back to stardom and not the bad sci-fi movies he does for Asylum. He needs this role, even if it will be small.

Spider-Man Reboot will be released on July 3, 2012.

Missile Command Movie...Really?

It seems like Hollywood has been having trouble getting original work from the millions of scriptwriters in the world and decided to add, yet again, another simple game movie to their list of movies. I can't say it is the worst one they have decided to make, but surely close to the bottom of the list.

Missile Command had no real plot or ending. You just played until you died, that seems like a great movie, or not.

20th Century Fox release the movie, which is being produced by Peter Chernin with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama writing the script. no release date at this time

The Top 10 Movies of 2010

2010 is over and it may have been one of the best years for movies in recent years. This list has been one of the hardest Top 10 list I've compiled ever. The top movies are so close to the best of the year that it is almost impossible to rate one higher than the other.

10. How to Train Your Dragon

How to Train Your Dragon has almost accomplished something very hard to do and that thing is letting DreamWorks surpass Pixar to produce the best animated film of the year. The film has great 3D with great animation, which has been troublesome for studios to do in recent years, except for Pixar. The story has some good family humor with jokes for adults and children a like. I expect to see great things from DreamWorks Animation in the near future.

9. True Grit

I was a little hesitant when I heard the Coen brothers were remaking the beloved John Wayne classic True Grit. I thought nobody could play Rooster Cogburn besides John Wayne, but I was happily proved wrong when Jeff Bridges took on the role. The casting was fantastic with Matt Damon as the Texas Ranger LaBoeuf and the new up and coming star Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross. They were fantastic at playing characters in that time period. The best thing of True Grit is the landscape and feel of the film. It looks like a true western and it is nice to now that great westerns can still be made,

8. Shutter Island

Shutter Island is the fourth partnering between Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese. Usually movies being made with same people start to get stale, but this pair just seem to get better with every movie. This movie was the first great film of 2010 and it proved to be a great throwback to the old noir films. Leo did an amazing performance in every scene. You could feel every emotion he had throughout. The supporting cast was fantastic and the last 45 minutes will lead you into thinking of the ending hours after you have seen it.

7. Black Swan

Black Swan was a film I didn't really want to see when I heard about it going into production. It just seemed to out there, but I was dead wrong. Natalie Portman gave her best performance ever and I think everyone knows it. The way it is filmed just gives it that surreal look that helps you feel like your right there with them. The lesbian scenes will make it a guy favorite for sure, but most will be satisfied with the amazing story. Black Swan is one of 2010's love it or hate it films.

6. Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Edgar Wright has been a favorite director of mine since Shaun of the Dead, so naturally I was excited about him doing something out there like Scott Pilgrim vs The World. The story is pretty straight forward with a guy who has to defeat a girls seven evil ex's. It's a great story, but the ride to the end is spectacular. The humor is something you never ever find in movies. That is what makes this movie something I've never seen before. It finds the magic line between humor and action to make it one hell of a fun ride.

5. Kick-Ass

Kick-Ass had the shock value when it was released. How could a little girl do all that violent things in one movie? That was the question moms and dads must have thought when they saw the trailer. It had a fantastic story that has been somewhat done before, but it makes the characters more human than others similar films have done. Kick-Ass is a normal guy who wants to be a superhero, but just gets the crap beat out of him. He meets a real hero Big Daddy, who with his daughter Hit Girl are actually amazing at what they do. The pairing of the three are fantastic. This is for sure the best super hero film of the year.

4. Toy Story 3

Pixar has done it again with a threequel no less. It's a pixar first to have a second sequel to a movie and have it be the highest grossing animated movie of all time. Toy Story 3 is the perfect send-off to the beloved story of Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang. It's animation is the best I've ever seen and it's story is fantastic. I still have trouble believing it was possible for Pixar to go into unseen territory with a third film in a series. Since it was a perfect ending to the Toy Story saga, I can only hope their future sequels have the same great send-off. I am a little worried with Cars 2 going into the cliches of spy films.

3. The Town

This is where the list of films start to get really hard to make a choice for top film. The Town has proven that actor turned director Ben Affleck is a seriously gifted director. The Town has a great love story and action all rolled into one amazing film. I didn't think I would really like The Town as much as I do after seeing the film, but after the realistic opening I was proven wrong. The action is something you hardly never see in films. The bullets are realistic and not made to sound like Hollywood made the sounds. The casting was fantastic and each actor gives it their all. It proved to the world that actor Jeremy Renner is a gifted actor and he has been projected into mainstream films because of it. I have trouble deciding between The Town and The Hurt Locker for Renner's best performance though. I also hope this film projects the stars into more projects and give Affleck a serious role in Hollywood as director. I have nothing but praise for this film.

2. The Social Network

David Fincher has amazed me by making an amazing film about the creation of Facebook. I thought he made a huge mistake when taking on The Social Network. I don't think I have ever heard anything good about Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg. So, why would I care to a film based on him? I figured it out and the answer is to see a thrilling life story about a person people hate, but it makes you feel for him. Sure he is a little anti-social, but that is just some of the unbelievable things that happen in this intense drama. Jesse Eisenberg has really proven himself playing Zuckerberg and so has Justin Timberlake playing Napster creator Sean Parker. I have grown really fond of Timberlake since he hosted Saturday Night Live so many times. He has grown into a fine actor and I actually want to see some more of his work in the future. I feel like The Social Network did to website making, what Wall Street did to the stock trade. The answer is make it seem awesome and sophisticated. The cast is perfect, the way it is filmed gives it that thriller look, the humor is well placed and I can't way to a Myspace film in the near future. That last part was a joke, unless David Fincher is going to do a networking trilogy with Myspace and Twitter.

1. Inception

Inception proved that a summer blockbuster doesn't have to be a dumb action film. This movie has absolutely nothing bad about it. The cast was just superb with Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-levitt, ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, and rising actors Ellen Page and Tom hardy. I feel like Chris Nolan will make a bad movie. He is the Spielberg of the 21st Century. The story is compelling and smart with so much action. The thought of going into somebodies dream alone is amazing, but to get into it and plant an idea that is unheard of. Inception shows that Chris Nolan has been messing around with the script on and off for over ten years. It may have a long runtime, but that is fine with just about everyone. I wouldn't see a movie that is short by Chris Nolan. Inception is a film that will compete with The Dark Knight to be the best Nolan film ever. Also, the score is up on the list of Hans Zimmer scores. If you haven't seen Inception yet, then go rent or better yet buy it and be amazed. Inception is the best film of 2010 by far.

Other great films that came out in 2010 that just were not the best are She's Out of Your League, Get Him to the Greek, Repo Men, Youth in Revolt, and The Crazies

Top 10 Worst Films will be online shortly

Gareth Edwards is directing Godzilla

News broke that talented director Gareth Edwards is going to helm the very secretive reboot of the Godzilla franchise. The film was announced back in July 2010 by Legendary Pictures and nothing was known about it, except writer David Callaham has been writing a rough draft for it.

David Callaham has been known to be an medicore writer with credits including Doom and The Expendables. The partnership with new talented director of the hit low-budget film Monsters will hopefully help make the script better than most think it will turn-out. Also, when Callaham is finished with the rough draft another writer will take over to smooth out the rough edges.

Godzilla is going to cause chaos sometime in 2012
