Rumor: Viggo Mortensen is Dr. Strange in Thor: The Dark World?!

The rumors for the next phase in Marvel films have finally hit and it's not the most far-out there idea. Most of the rumors I will talk about in years to come won't turn out real or pan out. Some get through the filter as real and happen. This rumor that Viggo Mortensen could take the mantle of Dr. Strange in Thor: The Dark World should be taken more seriously than others because of the source.

The source is (believe it or not but do) is a twitter feed by an person named Roger Wardell, who has confirmed some reliable information in past way before the official statement. So, I will take this rumor more seriously knowing that.

He tweeted:  "“Inside News: There’s something “Strange” about Thor: The Dark World" and in a separate text "“Inside News: Marvel is negotiations with Viggo Mortensen for an unspecified role in one of their Phase 2 films”"

So naturally, put the tweets together and boom a good casting call that does make sense. Take it as you will, but Dr. Strange is a bigger character in the universe and a script for a solo film has been in development for a few years now. A few domains have been bought in Strange's name a while back. He is coming sooner or later.

Nick Fury's SideKick Actresses Shortlist

Samuel L. Jackson confirmed last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that he will be Nick Fury in Thor and Captain America. That was not surprising at all.

The interesting news came when he told Jimmy he will be screen testing with numerous actresses on Friday for his sidekick. That was really interesting. Heat Vision reported this morning the shortlist of actresses that will screen test friday for a unspecified role as Nick Fury's sidekick. 

The role is rumored to be Janet Van Dyne/The Wasp and the actresses will get a nine picture deal, like Jackson. 

The list includes Mary Elizabeth Windstead, Cobie Smulders, Morena Baccarin, and Jessica Lucas. My vote goes to Mary Windstead because if the role is for Wasp, she will be the perfect actresses for the role.

 Hopefully they will announced who got the part in the near future.

Javier Bardem Offered Role in Bond 23

Some interesting news about the recently announced James Bond 23 movie has made its way online. The phenomenal actor Javier Bardem has been offered a "major" role in the film. No details on who he will be, but everyone is leaning towards him being the villain, Including me. Also, it will mark the 2nd time a academy award winner will play a Bond villain. First actor was Christopher Walken in A View To Kill.

Bond 23 has no official plot details, yet. Although the story is reportedly set right after Quantum of Solace.

Bardem has previously been rumored to be offered a role in Ron Howard's adaptation of Steven King's The Dark Tower. The other major actor in the running was Christian Bale, but I think Bardem will take it. Maybe they should give one of the roles to Jeffery Dean Morgan if Bardem doesn't take both roles. I'm mostly serious. 

Bond 23 will get released November 9th, 2012.

Tom Hardy Reuniting with Nolan for Batman

Deadline is reporting that actor Tom Hardy has been cast in the untitled Batman sequel. This will mark the second time Hardy has worked with director Christopher Nolan, so I guess he really liked his work in his last film Inception.

The site says "Insiders are keeping the role secret and won't even say if he's up for a villain role, but that seems a reasonable assumption."

Hardy's will have a lead role, so look forward to seeing a lot of him in the movie. He definitely could take on the role of the Riddler.

Brad Pitt to Star in Red Dead Redemption Movie?

It seems that ShowbizSpy has got their hands on some potentially cool news. They say inside sources tell them that Mega-star Brad Pitt has been given first dibs to star in the film version of Red Dead Redemption as John Marston.

“This is an exciting project with a great character at the center of it,” a source said “The idea is to make this in the style of an epic Western movie but with a few modern touches."

Pitt has only maybe been given first refusal for the part, so it could be somebody else because the makers of the game Rockstar say this is nothing but a rumor right now.

So is this good or bad news. I think he can do it. How about you?
