Batman vs. Superman Has Its Wonder Woman!

Warner Bros. has announced that actress/model Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious 6) has been cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film.

Director Zack Snyder stated: "Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

This casting isn't a huge shock because the character has been rumored for the past couple of weeks to be making some sort of appearance in the film. Whether it be a short cameo or a full main character remains to be seen. My guess is a character that comes more into play later in film or next film , perhaps a solo film? ehhh

Gal does have the strong female lead qualities in her, but for Wonder Woman it isn't the worst casting but may not be the best cast. I will reserve my judgement until I see footage of her.

Batman vs Superman will have Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent facing off against Ben Affleck's Batman/Bruce Wayne. Expect the epiciness to hit screens on July 17, 2015.

Casting: Bradley Cooper Cast as Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel is stepping it up with the casting this week! First James Spader and now the much hyped Rocket Raccoon cast is finally finished. Pretty boy Bradley Cooper has been chosen to take on the very humorous Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy. I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with the choice and he was on my top 6 list (where at on it? that doesn't matter).

Guardians of the Galaxy will hit theaters on August 1, 2014. Less than a year!

Do you think he could pull it off? Who would you chose?

James Spader Cast as Ultron in Avengers 2!

Marvel wanted to break into the comic news area again after being shadowed by Ben Affleck thing. They decided it was a great time to announce who exactly will be playing the big baddie in Avengers: Age of Ultron. That person is James Spader!

James Spader is best known for being Alan Shore on Boston Legal and The Practice. Couldn't tell you anything about those shows because I'm not realllly sure that I have the right shows in my head. Boston Legal or The West Wing hmmm…never mind..political shows aren't my thing. Although, We geeks know him best as Dr. Dan Jackson from Stargate! Ya!

Ultron is going to be a big villain for the team of returning members and new members of The Avengers. It is a little fuzzy on how Ultron is going to be made without Dr. Hank Pym creating him, since, he won't really get introduced until Phase 3. Only time will tell..

The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes to theaters May 1, 2015

Vin Diesel Heading to Marvel?

This is really random and cool at same time. Mega action star Vin Diesel stated on his Facebook page that "Marvel has requested a meeting... no idea what for... haha, you probably know better than me…".

That is pretty big news! What does Marvel want to talk about with him? Do they have a part for him in the future films? All I know is Marvel has a lot of characters and plot ideas in the pipeline. So they could have a character in mind for him and want to run it by him.

Rumors have been around for a while now about Diesel joining the Marvel Universe. Some rumors have been him playing Vision down the road or Thanos with that voice. Hmmmm only time will tell. What do you think? Any ideas?

More info to come!

Harrison Ford Playing Han Solo in Episode 7? Not Yet

Rumors on the hugely anticipated 7th film in the Star Wars series have been everywhere since they announced that they will make it a new trilogy. Well, now we hear a rumor that has some good meat to it and kind of makes sense to do. The news is Harrison Ford is talking about returning to the Star Wars universe as Han Solo!

This is just huge news because it will give us ideas where Disney will go with the new movies. Rumors since we get a return of the original series, we will see the film set 35 years in future and eventually give the films to the new cast to do their thing. I can buy into that, but please don't let these prequel films happen..yet. We need to move forward at this time in the world not backwards.

The news broke earlier saying he was cast as the part, but now the news is changing to he's in talks with EW writer Geoff Boucher tweeted this:

So, there is still talk of it happening! Just going to take some time.

Albert Brooks Set to Return for Finding Nemo 2

Albert Brooks is set to return for Finding Nemo along with director Andrew Stanton! This is pretty big news because Nemo co-star Ellen Degeneres already said she signed up to reprise Dory a while back, but we have been waiting for Albert Brooks to get back. Well he has finally given into the house of mouse.

Deadline is saying he closed the deal at "a fat deal", that sounds like some pretty big bucks. So we can expect to see Dory and Marlin go on another adventure together, but to save Nemo again? No news on what the story or characters or even a release date yet. This film is very under-wraps just like every other Pixar film.

Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen Eying 'Godzilla' Reboot

Legendary Pictures is moving more swiftly than originally thought with their Godzilla reboot. Amazing writer/director Frank Darabont is currently rewriting the script that was penned by Max Borenstein. So while that is being done, sources are telling Variety that Legendary is eying the talented Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen to join the cast.

Now, being that the script isn't even turned into the head honchos for review, we can't expect to get the characters these people are expected to portray. Besides having these 2 join the cast, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is also rumored to take a lead role in the film. Sounds pretty "Kick-Ass" if I do say so myself *slapping my knees*.

Godzilla, directed by Gareth Edwards, is set to begin production next month for a release next March 14th, 2014. That doesn't leave much time for casting to be finished, so expect official words on these people sooner than later.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin and Chris Meloni Join Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

The last 24 hours have been huge for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller! They announced some pretty spectacular additions to the already all-star cast of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

Early in the hours, they announced that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be added to the cast as a brand new character named "Johnny". He is "a cocky gambler who disguises a darker mission to destroy his most foul enemy at his best game." Sounds perfect for JGL, who has really risen to bigger stardom these past few years than ever before. He was offered role in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and turned it down. That is ballsy move and smart move on his part. This film is better suited for him.

The next big announcement was Chris Meloni will be getting some silver screen time (much needed)! His role is a bit vague at the moment with the exception of him being a lead and playing a police officer (go figure, but still awesome).

The last one of the day was pretty awesome in my book. Josh Brolin will play "Dwight", who we previously saw in the first film. Your probably (or not) thinking "hey Clive Owen played Dwight first, why is Josh Brolin taking over?!). Well, since this is a prequel we will see how Dwight ends up with a handsome british face and not a Brolin face. I am very excited to see where this will go and how it will turn out on film. Rodriguez stated ""Dwight is a constant character throughout the Sin City world and 'A Dame To Kill For' is a defining episode in his life. We're looking forward to Josh's take on Dwight," .

The filming is currently underway at Rodriguez's own Troublemaker Studios.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will hit theaters on October 4th.

Jim Carrey Officially Joins 'Kick-Ass 2' !!

After weeks of speculation, Legendary Jim Carrey has joined the already awesome cast of the anticipated sequel Kick-Ass 2 as Colonel Stars! I have been noticeably a huge fan of Carrey since I was 4. Every kid wanted the Ace Ventura doo right??….just me? So this casting is a big plus in my book with shooting of the film starting in like 5 days!

The news came from the director himself on twitter when he tweeted:
6 days till we start shooting… and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then!
I think the Ace Ventura catchphrase really gets the casting across pretty well. Carrey will play Colonel Stars, who once was an enforcer for the Genovese family that survived the Big Daddy and Hit-Girl massacre in Kick-Ass (actually mentioned in film). Well, he decides to switch sides and be a good guy with fellow enforcer and brother Lieutenant Stripes. I can't wait to see this film come together.

Everyone is returning from first film including Nic Cage as Big Daddy. Along with new characters from comics including Doctor Gravity (Donald Faison), Javier (John Leguizamo), and rumored Insect Man and Night Bitch.

Kick-Ass 2 will hit theaters on June 28th, 2013

Zach Galifiakanis Joining R.I.P.D.?

LA Times blog 24 Frames reported that Zach Galifiakanis is in-talks to join the cast of R.I.P.D. (Rest In Peace Department). If he does join the cast he will be a main character alongside Ryan Reynolds.

From Article: Galifianakis is in talks to play the co-lead in the film, according to two people with knowledge of the project who were not authorized to speak publicly about it. The movie is based on a popular Dark Horse comic about dead police officers patrolling the underworld.

Peter Lenkov created the comic -- the acronym stands for Rest In Peace Department -- which centers on the revenge sought by the recently murdered policeman Nick Cruz (Reynolds). Galifianakis would play another dead police officer.

Sounds like it would be cool to have two funny people play cops that are dead.

The production will likely start in the summer and release sometime next year.

R.I.P.D. will be released in 2012 (likely)

Tom Hardy Reuniting with Nolan for Batman

Deadline is reporting that actor Tom Hardy has been cast in the untitled Batman sequel. This will mark the second time Hardy has worked with director Christopher Nolan, so I guess he really liked his work in his last film Inception.

The site says "Insiders are keeping the role secret and won't even say if he's up for a villain role, but that seems a reasonable assumption."

Hardy's will have a lead role, so look forward to seeing a lot of him in the movie. He definitely could take on the role of the Riddler.

Matt Damon Not Returning For The Bourne Legacy

Hollywood Elsewhere talked to the new director/writer Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton,Duplicity) about his upcoming film The Bourne Legacy.

He told them that they took the title from a book in the series and they will not use the story.

"This is not a reboot or a recast or a prequel. No one's replacing Matt Damon. There will be a whole new hero, a whole new chapter...this is a stand-alone project," said Gilroy.

He went into greater depth of the subject and continued with "Jason Bourne will not be in this film, but he's very much alive. What happened in the first three films is the trigger for what happens. I'm building a legend and an environment and a wider conspiracy... the world we're making enhances and advances and invites Jason Bourne's return [down the road]."

So we could end up seeing Jason Bourne in later Bourne films.

No release date set yet

Emma Stone Is Gwen Stacy In Spider-Man Reboot!!

It's official! After a long speculation, news broke today that they finally cast the love-intrest of Peter Parker/Spider-Man.  The talented actress Emma Stone (Superbad, Zombieland, Easy A) will be Gwen Stacy opposite of Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) in the 2012 Spider-Man reboot.

Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment and Matt Tolmach, president of Columbia Pictures announced the news during a press conference.

Tolmach said "It's been an incredible journey for us to watch Emma's star rise as an actress. She is extraordinarily talented and has a very special on-screen spark that is perfect for this role. Given her history with the studio, casting her in one of our most important franchises is a real thrill."

"The chemistry between Andrew and Emma was stunning and made Emma the clear choice. At the heart of the story of Peter Parker is not only the amazing Spider-Man, but also an ordinary teenager who is wondering what he has to do to get the girl. Andrew and Emma will bring everything audiences expect to these roles, but also make them their own. Much to my surprise, it was fun to find out that our choice for Gwen (Emma) is also a natural blonde."Director Marc Webb added.

You can make your decision on if she is best for the part by seeing her now in Easy A. She is fantastic in the film and proves to me she can play Gwen Stacy.

Spider-Man is going to start production in december for a release in 3D on July 3, 2012.

Gore Verbinski Taking On The Lone Ranger?

Deadline is reporting that director Gore Verbinksi is thinking about making Disney's The Lone Ranger his next project.

The Lone Ranger comic-book cover

If this news is true then The Lone Ranger would mark the 5th time that Verbinski has worked with Johnny Depp. That is so close to stealing Depp away from Tim Burton that there could be a Depp war between the two men.

The Lone Ranger was announced a few years ago by mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer and then came the news that Johnny Depp has been cast as The Lone Rangers sidekick Tonto. Although we have the sidekick there is no clue on who would portray The Lone Ranger himself. Rumors have been leaning towards George Clooney.

So is it good news that Gore Verbinski might take on The Lone Ranger with Depp as a Native American sidekick?
