Godzilla IMAX Poster and Cool Japanese Trailer!

I really have to hand it to the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures marketing team for creating this fantastic mystery and coolness around Godzilla. The film looks so amazing and intriguing without giving away hardly anything about the plot or the full Godzilla. I mean, do we really need to know more than Godzilla is back and fighting other monsters? We already know that right? Thank you marketing team for making this film jump ahead 20 spots to be in the Top 5 anticipated of the year.

They released this stunning IMAX poster for the film that has some pretty great homage to Japan. The new trailer doesn't offer anymore of the plot but gives us some new scenes that are pretty awesome.

Comic-Con: Fantastic Godzilla Poster with Viral Marketing!

San Diego Comic-Con isn't even here yet and so much news and hype is coming out of San Diego. Godzilla has had a presence at the Con for the last couple of years and has been getting bigger every year. This year they are taking a major leap into events and viral marketing that is rich in content. Reminds me of Cloverfield viral marketing.

Warner Bros. released a crazy awesome poster for the film and I'm getting super excited about this film more and more. They will have a pretty giant presence at SDCC this year and it will only get better.

UPDATE: Viral Marketing

Viral marketing has been pretty huge on Godzilla lately and stuff has been going down all day today for it. They have been getting updates over last couple of days that include a random letter here and there in bold red. A new update allows SDCC badge holders to put in those letters as secret code "SERIZAWA" into www.godzillaencounter.ticketleap.com to get tickets to a epic encounter later this week.

Random Fact: Dr. Daisuke Serizawa is the name of the scientist in the original 1954 Godzilla film. History lesson of day folks.

More news to follow what this event will hold!

SDCC is here almost!

Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen Eying 'Godzilla' Reboot

Legendary Pictures is moving more swiftly than originally thought with their Godzilla reboot. Amazing writer/director Frank Darabont is currently rewriting the script that was penned by Max Borenstein. So while that is being done, sources are telling Variety that Legendary is eying the talented Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen to join the cast.

Now, being that the script isn't even turned into the head honchos for review, we can't expect to get the characters these people are expected to portray. Besides having these 2 join the cast, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is also rumored to take a lead role in the film. Sounds pretty "Kick-Ass" if I do say so myself *slapping my knees*.

Godzilla, directed by Gareth Edwards, is set to begin production next month for a release next March 14th, 2014. That doesn't leave much time for casting to be finished, so expect official words on these people sooner than later.

Comic-Con: Godzilla Panel and Poster

A very special surprise at Warner Bros. Hall H panel today was the very awesome trailer shown for Godzilla reboot! Directed by Gareth Edwards the reboot will be pay great homage to the original Japanese films.

The trailer that was shown at SDCC included footage of a city that was demolished and we see a giant monster body in the wreckage of the city. Then we hear the classic Godzilla scream while watching something big coming out of smoke and we see from behind its Godzilla's back all scaly. Then a shot of his face! Many say the face looks like the classic Zilla but with more meat to it.

The trailer is actually just test footage, but I hear it is quite amazing!! Gareth knows what he is doing and I can't wait to see where this film will go.

Godzilla will reach land in 2014

here is the SDCC poster released today during the panel

Gareth Edwards is directing Godzilla

News broke that talented director Gareth Edwards is going to helm the very secretive reboot of the Godzilla franchise. The film was announced back in July 2010 by Legendary Pictures and nothing was known about it, except writer David Callaham has been writing a rough draft for it.

David Callaham has been known to be an medicore writer with credits including Doom and The Expendables. The partnership with new talented director of the hit low-budget film Monsters will hopefully help make the script better than most think it will turn-out. Also, when Callaham is finished with the rough draft another writer will take over to smooth out the rough edges.

Godzilla is going to cause chaos sometime in 2012

SDCC: Legendary Reveals New Godzilla

Legendary Pictures just released the first look of their version of Godzilla on t-shirts at Comic-Con. They used the new fad Augmented Reality (AR) to make some cool effects on the shirts.

Legendary Pictures: Persons attending the conference will receive a t-shirt with an image of the new Godzilla, and when they look at themselves in a webcam at the Legendary Pictures tradeshow booth, they’ll see a superimposed animation of Godzilla’s “atomic breath” shooting out into the air in front of them from Godzilla’s mouth, complete with black smoke rising from the flames and the ground-shaking bellow of Godzilla’s instantly recognizable roar.

I personally don't know what to think of the new design, but it does seem to be favoring the Japanese version. I am partial to the US remake version, but not everybody likes that version.

Godzilla is planned for 2012 release

Legendary and WB Rebooting Godzilla

Legendary Pictures announced today that they will start development on a new film based on the classic Toho Studios giant monster Godzilla. Legendary will produce it with their partner Warner Bros. for a 2012 release.

They hope to have a director attached soon and cast will follow.

Hopefully, it will be Americanized and go for a new updated look. Don't get me wrong I watched every original Japanese movie and loved them. I just love the 1998 American film, even if it is critically blasted.
