Batman vs. Superman Has Its Wonder Woman!

Warner Bros. has announced that actress/model Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious 6) has been cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film.

Director Zack Snyder stated: "Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

This casting isn't a huge shock because the character has been rumored for the past couple of weeks to be making some sort of appearance in the film. Whether it be a short cameo or a full main character remains to be seen. My guess is a character that comes more into play later in film or next film , perhaps a solo film? ehhh

Gal does have the strong female lead qualities in her, but for Wonder Woman it isn't the worst casting but may not be the best cast. I will reserve my judgement until I see footage of her.

Batman vs Superman will have Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent facing off against Ben Affleck's Batman/Bruce Wayne. Expect the epiciness to hit screens on July 17, 2015.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures Go Separate Ways

Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Studio have officially announced they will not renew their picture-deal and will part ways. This comes as pretty big news considering that Legendary has some big movies released with Warner Bros. and has big tentpole movies in the future as well. I don't want to look at this as a bad thing necessarily, but a opportunity for Legendary to expand.

Legendary Pictures founder Thomas Tull has a few interested parties to partner up with now. The top runners are Universal, Sony, and Fox. They are all great companies that make respectable films in Legendary's expertise. The most likely candidate is Universal.

Universal has the most to offer for the big entertainment company. Legendary wants to move into other ventures including tv, comic books, and digital content. Universal has mega-network NBC and it's subsidiaries. This will for sure entice these guys to drink the kool aid.

Before any deal is being made, Legendary will meet with Fox for a chit chat. Tull said he want's to choose the best company to "help fulfill the grand vision." So look at this as a oppunity to grow and see where these ventures will take us in theaters in coming years. Legendary has always drew me in.

Full Trailer for Guillermo del Toro's 'Pacific Rim' is Here and it's Epic!

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures debuted the last and fullest trailer for Guillermo del Toro's baby Pacific Rim. This thing looks epic, like really epic epicness. It has amazing people behind the scenes and a fantastic cast that includes Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day, and Ron Perlman.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Hunnam) and an untested trainee —who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

This will be Epic!

Christopher Nolan's Interstellar Coming To Theaters on November 7, 2014

Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount Pictures, together, announced that Christopher Nolan's original film Interstellar will be co-produced and distributed by them. They announced Interstellar will be released in theaters and IMAX on November 7, 2014.

Christopher Nolan recently completed his Dark Knight Trilogy and he was in need of a new project to work on, and here it is. Interstellar is an original idea based on a script by his brother Jonathan Nolan.

The plot is set to revolve around a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding. (mind blown on that one). Anything with Nolan is a must see on my list, but Nolan + Sci-Fi = can't wait to see this!!!

Rumor: Christopher Nolan Overseeing Justice League, Zack Snyder Maybe Directing, and Christian Bale Back as Batman

This has to be one of the biggest rumors that Latino Review has released in a very long time (although they can be very credible). It blows the Marvel 'World War Hulk' Avengers storyline out of the water. Before I go any farther in this rumor…just know it is exactly that and I have trouble believing all of it. Just so many factors I see that go against it.

The rumor is a behemoth, Latino Review reported last night that Chris Nolan has already taken over the DC Universe at Warner Bros and every superhero film in production must go through him first. That is a huge thing to drop but lets move on first. Also, they said that Zack Snyder is going to co-produce, if not maybe direct it with Christian Bale returning as Bruce Wayne/Batman. This whole article just got crazy and your (if your a geek/nerd) mind is going nuts right now.

So lets get in the fine points of this and strip down them (the rumors, people).

Chris Nolan taking on godfather role over DC Universe

Chris Nolan taking on a huge role in overseeing DC Universe pictures for Warner Bros. is a huge nerdgasm for all fans, but honestly what are the chances of him doing that. Nolan is known for giving us the biggest Batman series with arguably one of the best pictures of the century. He is a huge fan himself, but he doesn't want to always be doing superhero stuff and he's said that before. This man is a highly productive sought after director. How can the man who only works on one film at a time manage a vast catalogue of superheroes leading up to Justice League film. I think chances are slim for him to be a big contributor in the grand scheme, but maybe a guy to help bring the players together and make something happen and put in his 2 cents. I just don't see him in a Kevin Fiege role (only purpose is to manage Marvel films), he is a filmmaker. I give this rumor a plausibility, but not to the full extent of him being greatly involved.

Zack Snyder Producing and Possibility Directing

Zack Snyder is a huge fan of all things comics and with a two great comic book films under him (300, Watchmen), and with hearing early reviews of Man of Steel being amazing, I can see this man up for the challenge of producing and even directing a Justice League film. He knows a lot about how the mechanics of these types of films work and has a great visual appearance in all of his films. The balance of Justice League resting on the shoulders of Man of Steel, If proven a success, Warner Bros. would be in great thought to get him on board. I think this rumor is very plausible and I can see him wanting to take on the film.

Christian Bale returning as Bruce Wayne aka Batman

Here is the only really big problem I have with this rumor. Christian Bale is a great Batman, don't get me wrong, but he has said the only way he would come back was if Nolan came up to him with a way to make a fourth film work. Would Justice League be considered the fourth film? Warner Bros. reportedly wants to tie the world into The Dark Knight universe, while cool, would really make the 3 films have no meaning with seeing how Bruce Wayne became something bigger and changed things in Gotham and put up the cowl. Although, I do admit, since Man of Steel is said to be more down to each and in tone of the series, I can see it happening. I think I could adjust to it sooner or later. Still, it doesn't change the fact that Bale would likely only join if Nolan was somewhere on board. So it is true Nolan is overseeing it, Bale couldn't be to far behind the bandwagon.

Just remember folks, these are all just rumors for now. No matter how crazy they are, you just never know. Latino Review has a pretty good track record with DC, but we all get stuff wrong sometime...

Justice League Film Script Reportedly Horrible and Scrapped

The Justice League just can't catch a break at all. After so many false starts over the years, we were finally given a date of 2015 for feature film. Well, it seems like that just won't be happening anytime soon. The script was being written by Gangster Squad scribe Will Beall and rumored to have Darkseid as villain while featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Green lantern. Sounds very intriguing and Avenger beating worthy, but problem is Beall could have messed up big time with it.

Badass Digest is reporting that they have heard from numerous sources close to the project that the script is "terrible" and WB has decided to scrap it. Some of them say it will fall apart and never get made, while others say WB will keep pushing forward because the superhero team movie wagon is just so good to be on.

Apparently the script was off to a bad start and the studio was getting their minds to mixed up on who to feature. Even with all this talk of having the film, WB recently admitted that they were getting the jitters of going forward with their set 2015 date and decided to see how Man of Steel will do this year. The script was also rumored to be the biggest point why no director has signed on. They know when they got a dud or gold on their hands. (Good call Ben Affleck! Still want you to direct though…)

Guess what WB. I have a better plan for you to get the Justice League film out by 2018. First, comes Man of Steel this year, 2013. Next, skip 2014 (sorry but we want substance over rushed) and give some time for a summer release for Wonder Woman in 2015. Than, we get The Flash in 2016 along with Man of Steel 2 and Green Lantern Reboot respectively in 2017 to lead up to a epic Justice League film in 2018. Gives time between films and cameos of heroes in each (if not easter eggs like something like building of the watch tower). Also, they had it right to feature Batman again in Justice League, but maybe cameo him in Man of Steel 2 would be better introduction.

What do you guys think should be done for Justice League? Should it die or live on with a new writer?

Justice League Film Depends on Man of Steel Box Office

Well, this news really isn't surprising at all. Variety did a very long article on Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov and talked about the franchises they have with Hangover, Hobbit, yada yadada yada, ahh here is the part, they state that the life of Justice League film is depending on how well Man of Steel does with everyone and makes a pretty penny. Variety States

Further out, the studio's planning a "Justice League" tentpole -- encompassing DC Comics mainstays Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash and the Green Lantern -- on the order of Marvel's "The Avengers." Will Beall is scripting but no director has been attached yet.

Stakes are high for "Man of Steel." Other than Nolan's Batpics, Warners has not been able to effectively exploit the DC library. Its 2011 "Green Lantern" underperformed, and a "Justice League" film wouldn't likely be in theaters before 2015, as Warner's top brass has indicated that they are awaiting the results of "Man of Steel," which opens June 14, before moving further ahead.
There you have it. Nothing really different than people talking business. They just really need to have a better approach at casting, picking directors, and getting the films all together in same universe. Green Lantern failed at pretty much all those, but Man of Steel is shaping up to be rather good looking. Just have to wait and see if we get to the team gear up together.

Pacific Rim Is Getting Converted to 3D Against del Toro's Wishes

Yep, you heard that right. Pacific Rim is getting converted to 3D under Warner Bros. authority. This will come as a shock to most of you because we heard from the man himself, Guillermo del Toro, that he is against 3D in this film. He noticeably said it at SDCC earlier this year saying:
“I didn’t want to make the movie 3D because when you have things that big, the thing that happens naturally is you’re looking at two buildings at 300 feet.  If you move, the buildings don’t go like this (moves his hands closer together), there’s no parallax.  They’re so big that you barely notice anything no matter how fast you’re moving, so to force the 3D effect on robots and monsters that are supposed to be that high, you’re making them miniaturized, you’re making them human-scale.  I knew that the 3D effect sounded like a great idea, but it was gonna be counter.”
So, unfortunately the studio will always get their way in the end to make more money. Since 3D cost more for a ticket it should be a bigger hit, especially overseas. This film is about giant robots and monsters fighting and set in some parts of Japan…big bucks to be made in the Asian markets.

The film will still be released in 2D along with 3D. So, hopefully del Toro works something out great to make the film work in 3D and still normal in 2D. I hate conversations that are horrible. Best of wishes to you del Toro.

What do you think about the change? Will you still see it?

CW Developing Smallville-Style Wonder Woman Series 'Amazon'

Wonder Woman is trying very hard to get back in big leagues with Batman and Superman. We had a failed pilot for NBC last year, A script is in-development for a feature film and she will show up in the Justice League film in 2015. Well, folks she has been granted a new development treatment for The CW.

I made this so don't think it's official..I know its pretty legit looking too.
The CW and Warner Bros. Tv are developing a new tv series based around the earlier years/origins of Wonder Woman in the style of Smallville. The Series is called Amazon and has attached the great Allan Heinberg to helm the script and take it from there. Heinberg is ,possibly, the best person for the job, being a huge tv writer for female leads (The O.C., Gilmore Girls, and Grey's Anatomy) . Also he is a great comic book writer with works including Young Avengers, and, interesting enough, the Wonder Woman series. (Yep he knows his Amazonians well).

It should be noted that the series Amazon has not been picked up for production of the series, but it's only in developmental stages and hopefully gets a great script in and pilot filmed. I actually want to see this one.

Ben Affleck Directing and Starring in Justice League Film?

I know you are likely scratching your head after reading that the guy from Gigli or Mall Rats is in the eyes of Warner Bros. to direct the highly anticipated superhero film Justice League! Well, it isn't that far fetched with Affleck becoming a very serious director in recent years with some critically popular films Gone Baby Gone and The Town. He has become one of hollywoods most sought after directors and he does come with a plus (or minus), he will only direct movies he stars in also to some capacity. So expect him to suit up likely.

Affleck, at the moment, is the only person the Will Beall (Gangster Squad) written Justice League script was sent to. This is a big move on Warner Bros. to show such hope that he will accept. The script was completed last summer but has been saved until they decided on who to offer the film to and it will bring DC Comics biggest heroes together including Batman, Superman, Green lantern, Wonder Woman, and The Flash. That is going to be one epic hero film that will rival The Avengers in all aspects. The craziest part is they are eying a possible Summer 2015 release date!!

I think this could be a mistake since we don't have any Marvel set-up with single films before hand. It could be smart for Warner Bros. to decide to have 2 films each year starting with Superman next year and have a film by 2018. Gives more time to tie the worlds together and give characters origins (excluding Superman and Batman). America needs some Flash and Wonder Woman introduction.

The only hold-up that could effect Ben from taking the job is the commitment. He is a high demand director and actor at the moment and if he took the job, it would put him unavailable as director the next couple of years. He still would be able to act in other films, likely, but limited number of time away from film.

The coolest part about it maybe coming in 2015 is it will square off agaist Joss Whedon's The Avengers 2. This could end up becoming the biggest battle ever at box office and nerds will rejoice everywhere.

Affleck is supposed to meet with Warner Bros. later this week to talk about it and maybe soon we get a decision on what he shall chose. I'm all for it!!!

Comic-Con: Godzilla Panel and Poster

A very special surprise at Warner Bros. Hall H panel today was the very awesome trailer shown for Godzilla reboot! Directed by Gareth Edwards the reboot will be pay great homage to the original Japanese films.

The trailer that was shown at SDCC included footage of a city that was demolished and we see a giant monster body in the wreckage of the city. Then we hear the classic Godzilla scream while watching something big coming out of smoke and we see from behind its Godzilla's back all scaly. Then a shot of his face! Many say the face looks like the classic Zilla but with more meat to it.

The trailer is actually just test footage, but I hear it is quite amazing!! Gareth knows what he is doing and I can't wait to see where this film will go.

Godzilla will reach land in 2014

Comic-Con: Man of Steel Panel Recap!

After that spectacular first look at Pacific Rim we were blessed with first look at footage or anything of Zack Snyder's Superman reboot film Man of Steel! Snyder is no stranger to Comic-Con or Hall H with previous films Watchmen and Sucker Punch. We were finally blessed with a trailer of Man of Steel and  new poster (below).

The trailer that was shown started with a few shots around a farm and a young Clark Kent walking towards the woods with a bag. We hear a voice over with Clark Kent, Jor-El (Russell Crowe), Pa Kent (Kevin Costner) saying something about how people will be afraid of what they don't understand.

Next comes a few quick shots of Lois Lane kissing Superman, Jor-El, and a brief look at General Zod! (Snyder still won't admit he is the main villain). Then some more shots of Clark as a kid wearing a red towel. Then a scene where he is saving a school bus that crashed. Cut's to Clark seeing the ship in the barn and even meeting Jor-El in the Fortress of Solitude. A very quick shot at The Daily Planet in an elevator. The most sought after footage of Superman flying and going through the clouds.

The best news is to expect the trailer to be released before The Dark Knight Rises on Friday!!!

Comic-Con: FIrst Footage of Pacific Rim Screened!

The Mega 3 hour Warner Bros. panel in Hall H today is full of amazing surprises today starting the panel off with Guillmero del Toro's (GDT) baby Pacific Rim! The room was transformed into the command center with all the screens showing footage. Then we learned a lot about how the movie was being made with no motion capture because robots don't move like humans. Then the film uses a lot of practical effects.

The first clip is shown! It's basically the trailer but has the robots battling on different terrains. Than a giant monster attacking a bridge and so much more carnage! this movie is gonna be amazing and original! I can't wait to get a official trailer for the film in future.

GDT said that after Comic-Con the press for Pacific Rim will go in "radio-silence mode" for the rest of year. That blows considering everyone (including me) would love to see a trailer for this film in near future. Hey, we always might get bootleg versions still hmm!!

Pacific Rim battles into theaters on July 12, 2013

First Look at The Dark Knight Rises Merch!!

Some shots of some pretty awesome merchandise promos for The Dark Knight Rises have made their way online. All I can really say is I'm waiting in a (short) line for that awesome backpack and I'll even wear it to school (college). You probably think I'm kidding but…I'll let you decided for yourself. Anyways, this backpack is just part of some cool merchandise that ended up online. I think one is back of action figure box (I will own it) and a cool poster (also own). So check them out.

Bearded Superman and Redheaded Lois Lane

Like I mentioned earlier this week, filming is currently taking place in Vancouver for Man of Steel. The next superman film directed by visionary Zack Snyder.

Here is little bit of weird news from the set. Superman/Clark Kent has a big lumberjack beard and Lois Lane is strawberry blonde. I can't believe it either folks.

The ideas on why Clark Kent has a beard and is in an Alaskan fishing village are stirring around on the net. Could Clark be going on a self-finding trip or is he hiding from General Zod (Michael Shannon), or Lois Lane. Who knows? well Zack Snyder and the cast likely do but thats beside the point.

We will have to wait 2 years to find out whats happening!! Man of Steel flies into theaters June 14, 2013

First Look at Russell Crowe/Jor-El on Man of Steel Set

The Daily Mail has managed to snag some images of Russell Crowe on the Man of Steel set in full Jor-El costume. Crowe will be playing Jor-El the real father of Superman. Pa Kent ain't got nothin on him. The armor/robe looks very ripping on Crowe. Nobody should have a phone anywhere near him when he's in character.

Filming of Zach Snyder's Man of Steel is currently in Vancouver and it's shaping up nicely. Other cast members include Henry Cavill (Superman) and Amy Adams (Lois Lane) , Diane Lane (Ma Kent), Kevin Costner (Pa Kent) , Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix and Laurence Fishburne.

Fletch Reboot Happening. Again.

It looks like Warner Bros. Pictures has bought the rights to make another Fletch movie. I have very little hope in the making of this movie because of all the previous attempts over the years. Many have tried making sequels, reboots, re-imaginings to Fletch and Fletch Lives, which stars Chevy Chase, but nothing has come about of those failures.

Heat Vision says: No writer or director is board, but Warners and the producers are aiming for a reimagining, not a remake, and hope to make an smart action comedy that plays out on a bigger canvas than the previous movies.

So we will wait to see if anything happens in the future.

Anne Hathaway is Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy is Bane

I know it may be hard to take in all that (weird) information at once, but its all true.

Warner Bros. Pictures announced the news earlier today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle or aka Catwoman. I know some will have trouble accepting that casting, but if Nolan has a vision, then let him finish his series how he want to do it. I believe she could do really well and maybe get some praise for her role.

Also, they announced Tom hardy will play Bane. That was a shock because Bane is while not the most crazy villain in the Batman mythology, he is not the most realistic either. I hope Nolan and Goyer have something believable for the creation of Bane. It is pretty sweet that Badass Tom Hardy will play the man that broke Batman's spine in the comics, back in the day.

Here is the official press release:

BURBANK, CA, January 19, 2011 – Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises.” She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Christopher Nolan stated, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”

In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.”

Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.

The Dark Knight Rises” is slated for release on July 20, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

New Live-Action Bugs Bunny Film Planned

Deadline says Warner Brothers will make a live-action Bugs Bunny film for theatrical release sometime in near future.

Screenwriter David Berenbaum (Elf, Spiderwick Chronicles) has been hired to write the film with intentions to make it like their upcoming film Yogi Bear by blending live-action with CGI.

Bugs Bunny with Michael Jordan and Bill Murray in Space Jam

I have mixed feelings about bringing Bugs Bunny into the CGI realm. I just can't picture him looking like Bugs.

Also, it will mark the first time he has been on the big screen since Looney Tunes: Back in Action back in 2003 and Bugs just had his 70th birthday a little bit ago.
