Comic-Con: FIrst Footage of Pacific Rim Screened!

The Mega 3 hour Warner Bros. panel in Hall H today is full of amazing surprises today starting the panel off with Guillmero del Toro's (GDT) baby Pacific Rim! The room was transformed into the command center with all the screens showing footage. Then we learned a lot about how the movie was being made with no motion capture because robots don't move like humans. Then the film uses a lot of practical effects.

The first clip is shown! It's basically the trailer but has the robots battling on different terrains. Than a giant monster attacking a bridge and so much more carnage! this movie is gonna be amazing and original! I can't wait to get a official trailer for the film in future.

GDT said that after Comic-Con the press for Pacific Rim will go in "radio-silence mode" for the rest of year. That blows considering everyone (including me) would love to see a trailer for this film in near future. Hey, we always might get bootleg versions still hmm!!

Pacific Rim battles into theaters on July 12, 2013

Until a trailer pops up, here is the Pacific Rim Comic-Con poster released earlier this week

SDCC: Amazing Marvel Booth at Comic-Con

Marvel really went all out this year on their booth at Comic-Con. They made the overall theme Thor, which is predictable because it's their next big movie. Here is a list of the cool things did.

First thing they did was have a sweet replica of Odin's Throne as the center piece. This thing looked amazing and expensive.

Then they unveiled the helmets worn by the cast of Thor including Thor's, Odin's and Loki's helmets in a really nice glass case.

Then, they had Thor Director Kenneth Branagh open those mysterious golden doors at the top of the throne and give us the first look at The Destroyer. The Destroyer is an enchanted suit of armor forged by Odin, that when it is animated by a user it possesses the strength to exceed beings such as Thor and is almost totally invulnerable. Loki has used it against Thor many times in the comics. It looks pretty cool.

Then on the last day of Comic-Con they unveiled Captain America's Shield that Chris Evans is actually using on set. The shield looks really cool and even better when it's in a nice glass case.

Then, while they focused all their attention on Captain America's Shield they took the tarp off another glass case and revealed one of Marvel's Most powerful weapons The Infinity Gauntlet. This huge golden gauntlet is a beast to say the least because when one assembles six immensely powerful stones on the glove, each granting its bearer with mastery over one aspect of the universe: Mind, Reality, Time, Space, Soul and Power. Combined on the Infinity Gauntlet, they make the user omnipotent.  That just sounds amazing.

Marvel really have out done themselves this year and I can't wait to see what they got in store for next year.

What do you think about all of these Thor pieces? They cool? Do have any plot idea's for whats in Thor? Leave us a comment on what you think.

SDCC: Marvel Panel with The Avengers Cast!!

The biggest panel to me at Comic-Con this year was the Marvel Studios panel in Hall H. I was pretty blown away with what they did with Tron: Legacy on Thursday, but this definitely steals the show.

The panel would consist of Thor and maybe some footage of Captain America because it's been filming for about 9 days. However,  I was not expecting to anything for The Avengers because it hasn't even began production yet.

The first group at the panel was for Captain America and they started off with a teaser trailer that showed some stuff during WWII and a quick shots of Captain America.

They brought out director Joe Johnston with stars Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving.

Kevin Feige said "The footage of Captain America was just from the costume test."

Right after they finished with Captain America they began the Thor panel with some stellar footage that shows some scenes that sum up the plot.

Then the next bit of news really surprised me because they showed a teaser trailer for The Avengers. The trailer showed nothing but the avengers emblem and a voiceover by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

They then introduce Sam Jackson himself then they bring out the rest of the cast including Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America and then Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.

Robert Downey talked about how some people say Inception is the most "ambitious" film ever made and he says bring all of these heroes together for The Avengers would be the most "ambitious" film ever made.

Downey then introduced and confirmed some major news about characters by saying Clinton Barton......is Jeremy Renner and then said "Reprising his role as Bruce Banner....Mark Ruffalo." The last part was funny joke, but sad for Edward Norton.

So, at the end of the day we got to see a teaser for Captain America, some sweet footage from Thor and a teaser trailer that is very teasing because it shows no footage at all of The Avengers. This panel sounds pretty amazing.

Here is picture of The Avengers cast with new additions Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo. Click pic to make huge.

What you think about the casting and how was this years panel for Marvel. Amazing or okay to say the least? Leave us a comment on what you think.

SDCC: Linda Hamilton Joins Chuck

Chuck creators/producers Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak revealed some cool and interesting news about who will play the mysterious unseen mother of Chuck Bartowski. The name they have thrown out at the Comic-Con panel for Chuck is Linda Hamilton and that is just awesome news. She is cool, oddly buff and can kick as....butt.

Linda Hamilton will join the cast as Mary Bartowski for the fourth season of the show and will have an off and on appearance throughout the season.

I, along with millions of Chuck fans have wondered who will play Chuck's mom, who has been gone from Chuck and Ellie's life since childhood. It seems now the only people they have bring on the show is his grandparents.

Chuck season 4 will premiere on Monday, September 20, at 8pm ET/PT.

SDCC: Man stabbed in Hall H at Comic-Con

I guess some fans get a little uptight when the Universal Studios panel in Hall H was about to begin because there was a stabbing right before the panel . The news spread fast through the Hall that somebody was stabbed. I just couldn't believe somebody actually stabbed another person at Comic-Con.

I did some digging into the stabbing news and found out it really wasn't that bad of a stabbing. Apparently it was between two friends that got into an argument over them sitting to close to one another or over a seat that they both wanted. All in all, the guy stabbed his friend right next to his eye with a pen.

Here is a photo of the man who did the stabbing. At least he didn't stab his buddy in the back.

The panels in Hall H resumed an hour later.

SDCC: Comic-Con Footage of The Walking Dead

Some brave soldier recorded a decent bootlegged version of the extended trailer shown at Comic-Con. The show has been at the top of my to-watch list for quite some time, because I love zombies and Frank Darabont (The Mist,  The Shawshank Redemption).

The Walking dead is based on the hit comic-book series and will premiere on AMC in October 2010.

The Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse and follows a small group of survivors traveling across the country in search of a new home away from the hordes of zombies. The group is led by Rick Grimes, who was a police officer in the old world, and as their situation grows more and more grim, the group's desperation to survive pushes them to do almost anything to stay alive.

SDCC: Jeremy Renner Confirmed for The Avengers

Joss Whedon just confirmed that Jeremy Renner is going to play Hawkeye in The Avengers. This is huge news after months of speculation that Renner would take on the role of Hawkeye.

The way Joss Whedon looks during the interview is the funny part because he looks exhausted and maybe a little tipsy, but I guess you would have to be if you have like 50 panels over the whole weekend.

SDCC: Nathan Fillion is Ant-Man in The Avengers?

Their has been some major confusion caused today at Comic-Con by Joss Whedon. He may have mentioned that Nathan Fillion will portray Ant-Man in The Avengers. That got my hopes up and then I realized it was a joke.

He said "Nathan Fillion is Ant-Man," adding, "unfortunately Ant-Man isn't really in the movie." Marvel confirmed that it was a joke. A mean joke I might add.

I would have believed it because Nathan Fillion is good friends with Whedon and even starred in his hit tv show Firefly. To bad.

Do you think Nathan Fillion can play Ant-Man if he was in the Avengers?

SDCC: Cabin in the Woods not 3D anymore?

Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's creature feature Cabin in the Woods may not be getting the 3D release it was pushed back for over year to convert the film in 3D.

Joss Whedon told the audience at Comic-Con that it was the studio that wanted to convert Cabin in the Woods to 3D because they felt that every Horror movie is being released in 3D. That is clearly a speculation that really didn't pan out.

It's funny that Whedon, himself, believes Cabin in the Woods should stay 2D because certain scenes were shot in very John Carpenter-esque  and are best looking in 2D. He later said "What we're hoping to do is to be the only horror movie coming out that is not in 3D."

Cabin in the Woods hits theaters on January 14, 2011 in 3D or 2D? Who Knows yet?

More news to come.

SDCC: Guillermo del Toro to direct The Haunted Mansion

Right at the end of the Tron: Legacy panel in Hall H, A very special guest named Guillermo del Toro made an unannounced appearance to make the surprise announcement that he will co-write, produce and direct a new Haunted Mansion movie not related to the ill-fated 2003 film starring Eddie Murphy.

He later said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that "It's going to be a thrill ride for the whole family but it's definitely going to be scary," he said. "(Walt) Disney is one of the creators of some of the scariest images in my childhood. People forget that he not only made sweet images but also images of nightmare. We need to honor that side of the legacy." and "We want a scary movie that's as scary as the ride. If you're 11 years old, you can go on the ride but it's still scary," said Disney production head Sean Bailey. "Tonally we're going to make a movie that is for families but is a fun and, at times, scary movie."

SDCC: MegaMind Panel with Laughs

The MegaMind panel was the first panel of the day in Hall H and they kicked off the day with many laughs because of Will Ferrell's costume. Ferrell dressed up as his character from the film MegaMind. It is sad that Jonah Hill, Tina Fey and the no show Brad Pitt didn't follow in his footsteps with costumes.

Also, there was some funny jokes being thrown around by Tina Fey and Will Ferrell. Tina said "Whoever I met at the hotel last night, you left your Admiral Ackbar outfit in my room. I just want to know if I can keep it."  Ferrell added "It's a trap!"

Will said "I didn't actually have glasses on, but I huffed so much paint putting the costume on that I could still see it. It was actually triple what you guys saw." He said that after they finished the screening of some new footage in 3D.
