Finally.. 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' Trailer

Seriously…I have been waiting over a year to see something just anything for this movie. Even becoming on my list of films to see for this year because I built it up in my mind as an awesome action flick with Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton killing witches. I really want to believe this film will be action/comedy/horror all the way in the right ways..but I still have some faith in it after the trailer. The film will for sure have a b-movie feel to it with the overused one-liners and shots.

Also, the film really feels like a spin-off of Terry Gilliam's Brother Grimm with atmosphere, shots, humor, even Peter Stomare in it. I don't believe it to all be bad so lets give it a shot shall we. Here is the trailer for yourself and poster,

Catching up with Hansel (Renner) and Gretel (Arterton) 15 years after the traumatic incident involving a gingerbread house, the siblings have evolved into vengeful bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches. Over the years, the siblings became expert hunters, famous for their proficiency at tracking and taking down their prey. Although still recovering from their ordeal, their work is relatively easy as for an unknown reason harmful spells and curses do not work well against them.
The Mayor of Augsburg recruits them to rid the town and nearby forests of an evil sorceress (Famke Janssen) who is planning to sacrifice many local children at the witches’ gathering during the upcoming ‘Blood Moon’ night in two days time. To make things worse, the duo also has to deal with the brutal Sheriff Berringer (Peter Stormare) who has taken power in Augsburg and conducts a very indiscriminate witch-hunt of his own.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters goes to theaters on January 11, 2013

The Bourne Legacy Poster is Lackluster

We were given the pretty boring image of the main star Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross with a death stare.  Now we have been truly blessed with a poster for the film that is lackluster to say the least. The poster has nothing good to it with a slogan of "prepare for the unexpected". That is class A marketing there I tell you. Dumbest slogan in a long time. I know this movie will do amazing but come on.

Here is the lackluster poster for your viewing (I just found out it isn't a final poster.)

First Look at The Bourne Legacy

USA Today has released the first image from the next film the Bourne series The Bourne Legacy. The image is of new main character Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner) featuring a pretty badass death stare. The new film will not feature Matt Damon at all and is set in the same universe. Pretty complicated I know. All I know is Renner is going to kick ass and do an amazing job with the Renner hair and a sweet supporting cast including Rachel Weisz, Oscar Isaac, and villain Edward Norton.

New Cool Avengers Banners

A new banner poster (or just individual posters but together to make a banner) of the main avengers has made its way online. The banner is nothing really new but the Hulk one looks pretty intriguing. Also, I just love how Iron Man has no helmet on while old Capt still has his full mask on, and where is Hawkeye or Black Widow in that banner. Oh wait, another banner has made it's way online a little bit later having the rest of the team (with main villain Loki thrown in) in their very own makeshift banner of posters. Hawkeye looks pretty boss (ya i said boss).

Here is the Banner featuring the main Avengers (Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor)

Here is the "the other guys" plus Hawkeye. He is the only one that should be with the main cast. (Nick Fury, Loki, Hawkeye, Black Widow)

The Avengers assemble in theaters on May 4, 2012

CONFIRMED: Jeremy Renner Cast In The Bourne Legacy

Rumors have been going around the net for a few weeks about who will be in the new Bourne film. The wild ideas of casting an unknown as the new agent or going with Oscar Issac (Sucker Punch). Then came the best idea/rumor with getting Jeremy Renner to star.

Confirmed: Jeremy Renner has been attached to be main character in the new Bourne film The Bourne Legacy

The film will "steal" its name from the fourth book in the series, but will not have anything to do with the story. The film will not be a prequel, reboot, or sequel to the matt damon films. It will simply just follow another hero in a stand-alone film.

Renner will film The Bourne Legacy after he finishes The Avengers later this year

First Poster for The Town

Apple released the first poster for Ben Affleck's The Town and it is cool and creepy at same time.

Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang's latest job, when they briefly took a hostage--bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name...and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug...not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.

Here is link to the trailer for The Town.

The Town hits theaters on September 17, 2010.

SDCC: Marvel Panel with The Avengers Cast!!

The biggest panel to me at Comic-Con this year was the Marvel Studios panel in Hall H. I was pretty blown away with what they did with Tron: Legacy on Thursday, but this definitely steals the show.

The panel would consist of Thor and maybe some footage of Captain America because it's been filming for about 9 days. However,  I was not expecting to anything for The Avengers because it hasn't even began production yet.

The first group at the panel was for Captain America and they started off with a teaser trailer that showed some stuff during WWII and a quick shots of Captain America.

They brought out director Joe Johnston with stars Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving.

Kevin Feige said "The footage of Captain America was just from the costume test."

Right after they finished with Captain America they began the Thor panel with some stellar footage that shows some scenes that sum up the plot.

Then the next bit of news really surprised me because they showed a teaser trailer for The Avengers. The trailer showed nothing but the avengers emblem and a voiceover by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

They then introduce Sam Jackson himself then they bring out the rest of the cast including Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America and then Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.

Robert Downey talked about how some people say Inception is the most "ambitious" film ever made and he says bring all of these heroes together for The Avengers would be the most "ambitious" film ever made.

Downey then introduced and confirmed some major news about characters by saying Clinton Barton......is Jeremy Renner and then said "Reprising his role as Bruce Banner....Mark Ruffalo." The last part was funny joke, but sad for Edward Norton.

So, at the end of the day we got to see a teaser for Captain America, some sweet footage from Thor and a teaser trailer that is very teasing because it shows no footage at all of The Avengers. This panel sounds pretty amazing.

Here is picture of The Avengers cast with new additions Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo. Click pic to make huge.

What you think about the casting and how was this years panel for Marvel. Amazing or okay to say the least? Leave us a comment on what you think.

SDCC: Jeremy Renner Confirmed for The Avengers

Joss Whedon just confirmed that Jeremy Renner is going to play Hawkeye in The Avengers. This is huge news after months of speculation that Renner would take on the role of Hawkeye.

The way Joss Whedon looks during the interview is the funny part because he looks exhausted and maybe a little tipsy, but I guess you would have to be if you have like 50 panels over the whole weekend.

Trailer of the Week : The Town

The Town came out of nowhere and stole the trailer of the week from Devil. This movie has an amazing cast with Ben Affleck, Jon Hamm, Blake Lively, Rebecca Hall, and one of my favorite actors Jeremy Renner. Can Affleck keep up his good director status with me on his sophomore attempt at directing.

The film follows the action of four Charlestown, Massachusetts bank robbers as they are pursued by law enforcement. Affleck plays a professional thief who falls for a bank manager (Hall) after a dangerous heist. He struggles with this newfound relationship whilst evading a tenacious FBI agent (Hamm) looking to catch him and his crew before they rob another bank.

Daily Movie News

It's Tuesday time for Daily Movie News.

* Director Paul Greengrass (Bourne 2 and 3) has opted out of Bourne 4, which has already been in development hell. The most likely reason is that Universal has hired two writers to pen a script. George Nolfi who co-wrote Bourne 3 and working with Damon on another film. The second writer was hired without the directors consent. That writer is Josh Zetumer, who is a studio favorite and on the "Blacklist" of writers they use alot. Due to Greengrass's friendship with the star, he may return at a later date.

* Modern Warfare 2 director Keith Arem will make his feature directorial debut on the action/thriller Frost Road. The film centers on a young man who awakens from a car accident to discover he one of the few survivors in the aftermath of a mysterious outbreak that struck a small coast town on the East Coast. Somehow immune to the contagion, he tries to save the remaining survivors as he struggles to prevent the deadly wave from spreading across the planet. Arem also wrote the script.

* Director Todd Phillips (The Hangover) says that The Hangover 2 script is half done. He is keeping the plot under wraps for now, and promises that it won't rehash the events in the first film. Also, he said its not the Las Vegas setting that was funny, but the 3 main characters.

* Summit Entertainment has acquired Ben Magid's spec script Invasion. The film opens with a wicked subway accident in which the survivors (protagonists) climb from the wreckage to find, now "snowy", city in ruins. What they encounter topside is bodies, mobs of people in a state of panic and acidic "goo". Eli Roth and Eric Newman will help steer the project.

* Actor Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) is rumored to star as Hawkeye in Marvel's highly anticipated adaptation The Avengers. No director is attached at the moment. The film is targeted for a may 4th, 2012 release.

* Actor Ryan Reynolds (X-Men Origins) said that the Green Lantern film he is attached to star isn't a labored Origin film that picks up in third act and some of the best parts don't have him in costume. Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) is directing for 2011 release.
