FOX Picked DC Comics' 'Lucifer' for Pilot Order

FOX will attempt to add another DC Comics property to their prime time lineup very soon. They have ordered a Pilot for 'Lucifer' after a long process of getting it ready.

Last fall, Fox did a "Put Pilot" on Lucifer, which means they would pay some penalties if it never got pass the scripting stage. The team behind the scenes is very talented and no strangers to drama action. Big time producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, will be executive producing with Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed.

Californication creator Tom Kapinos will script the pilot with Len Wiseman (Underworld, Sleepy Hollow) directing it.

That is pretty great team all around to bring this awesome comic series to life on screen. Although, we will hold reservations because of the direction they are going.

Hollywood Reporter says the premise will Lucifer "who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals."

That isn't really close to how the comic went but for television's sake and FOX turning things into a police procedural, lets hope it works. Lucifer is an amazing deep character who deserves more recognition but hopefully this won't go down the wrong road. More info to come!

First Trailer of The Lone Ranger with lots of Johnny Depp

The trailer is finally here for Gore Verbinksi's The Lone Ranger and it actually looks pretty descent. Actually shows some good footage of the cool style of film with main characters (or more of Johnny Depp than the main person). I have faith in the film, but we need more Lone Ranger Armie Hammer or as most know him as the rich twins from The Social Network. Here is trailer and synopsis.

“The Lone Ranger” is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption."

The Lone Ranger rides into theaters on July 3rd, 2013

Gore Verbinski Taking On The Lone Ranger?

Deadline is reporting that director Gore Verbinksi is thinking about making Disney's The Lone Ranger his next project.

The Lone Ranger comic-book cover

If this news is true then The Lone Ranger would mark the 5th time that Verbinski has worked with Johnny Depp. That is so close to stealing Depp away from Tim Burton that there could be a Depp war between the two men.

The Lone Ranger was announced a few years ago by mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer and then came the news that Johnny Depp has been cast as The Lone Rangers sidekick Tonto. Although we have the sidekick there is no clue on who would portray The Lone Ranger himself. Rumors have been leaning towards George Clooney.

So is it good news that Gore Verbinski might take on The Lone Ranger with Depp as a Native American sidekick?
