Trailer: Captain America: Civil War + Posters and Screenshots!

It has been quite some time since a post has been, well... posted. So what's a better way than doing a post about the first Captain America: Civil War trailer? I thought so.

The first trailer dropped not long ago and it was glorious in every way! We got to see the teams forming and see everything start falling into place for one epic fight. One epic Civil War (see what I did there).

We end up getting a great first glimpse of Black Panther in full costume and keeping his end of the fight very interesting. We are still waiting for our first glimpse of the elusive Spider-Man. In due time my friends. In due time.

So here is the trailer along with 3 Posters and some screenshots I took to get a better look at things including Black Panther, the teams, and the registration act itself.

6 Actors Who Should be the New Spider-Man

Some big news has been unveiled a couple of weeks ago involving ol' Spidey and Marvel. Spider-Man is coming home! (well sort of). Lets Explain!

Earlier, Sony Pictures (who owns the screen rights to Spider-Man and Company) decided to partner up with Marvel Studios and bring Spider-Man to the famous Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This is gigantic news regarding big studios working together and bringing together something the fans always wanted. They announced he will show up Captain America: Civil War and then a new solo film on July 28, 2017 that will go back to high school years. This means recasting Spider-Man unfortunately.

We are still a little hurt that Andrew Garfield will be leaving the role because he was Peter Parker. Can Marvel and Sony cast someone better? We have been researching for them and have come up with a few choices that should get a look at by them when the time comes.

Check out the full list and even a Bonus person!

FOX Picked DC Comics' 'Lucifer' for Pilot Order

FOX will attempt to add another DC Comics property to their prime time lineup very soon. They have ordered a Pilot for 'Lucifer' after a long process of getting it ready.

Last fall, Fox did a "Put Pilot" on Lucifer, which means they would pay some penalties if it never got pass the scripting stage. The team behind the scenes is very talented and no strangers to drama action. Big time producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, will be executive producing with Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed.

Californication creator Tom Kapinos will script the pilot with Len Wiseman (Underworld, Sleepy Hollow) directing it.

That is pretty great team all around to bring this awesome comic series to life on screen. Although, we will hold reservations because of the direction they are going.

Hollywood Reporter says the premise will Lucifer "who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals."

That isn't really close to how the comic went but for television's sake and FOX turning things into a police procedural, lets hope it works. Lucifer is an amazing deep character who deserves more recognition but hopefully this won't go down the wrong road. More info to come!

Watch Scene from Son of Batman Movie + Interview with Jason O'Mara

DC All Access released a video that includes a pretty funny interview with Batman himself, Jason O'Mara, and a exclusive clip from the Son of Batman animated movie. Also, stick around til end of video to get some pretty cool news from other DC comics interviews and news.

Son of Batman is based on Grant Morrison's storyline that introduced us to the anti-lovable son of Bruce Wayne, Damian Wayne. I personally love the little d-bag kid but thats just me (and like everyone else...but I ask myself why all the time...)

The cast of great voices include the return of Jason O'Mara as Batman, Morena Baccarin as Talia Al Ghul, Thomas Gibson as Deathstroke, and Giancarlo Esposito (Gus from Breaking Bad) as Ra's Al Ghul. That is quite the cast!

Son of Batman will hit Video (who says Video anymore) on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, and Digital Download on May 6th.

Garth Ennis In "Early Stages" Of A Brand New 'Punisher' Mini-Series!

The Punisher is what got me into comics in the first place. The 2004 film with Thomas Jane drew me down to the local comic shop to get some issues. Fortunately Garth Ennis was doing the Punisher MAX series that was sooo amazing at the time, I literally have every issue. Great violent gritty real world series. Especially for a 13 year old right!? My parents were very protective of me. They were strict enough to let me go to sleep every night when I was 5 watching The Terminator 2. I know very protective but hey what can you do?

In a recent interview with comiXologist podcast, he stated "I will be starting work on another 'Punisher' miniseries quite soon, that'll probably come out sometime next year," Ennis said on the podcast. "That's at the very early stages."

I love that news so much! My favorite Punisher writer coming back to visit a character he added so much to and has been away from so much.

Are you excited as I am? I know you are!

Pick & Pull: July 31, 2013 - 3 Guns, Batman, Collider + More!

It's the return of the much loved weekly editorial for best comics to check out this week! Pick & Pull is back and just in time to see some great things in the making. This week we have Neil Gaiman joining Marvel in a way, 3 Guns is better than 2, and it's getting dark in here.

3 Guns #1 (of 6) - This is a sequel to 2 Guns (catchy title really). This time around they throw in a girl for you know more jokes and battles between each other. Looks pretty promising to be fun and action packed.

Batman Annual #2 - The first annual was pretty emotional with Mr. Freeze getting sweet and touching origins. So it's only natural to pick up the 2nd issue and see where we will go. This team has never really let us down in the emotional, action, or drama side of things.

Captain Midnight #1 - This is really part of the trend by Dark Horse to bring older characters back to life, but with Joshua Williams behind it, I have to pick it up!

Guardians of the Galaxy #5 - They are bringing one of Neil Gaiman's characters into the Marvel universe in a big way and it all starts here. Check out Angela in this issue!

Sheltered: A Pre-Apocalyptic Tale #1 - The title is just the cool strange part of it!

Collider #1 - This one snuck up on me and sounded so intriguing to sic-fi reader in me. It's like a mixture of Fringe and other sci-fi goodies.

Man of Steel Viral Marketing Takes Off with General Zod Wanting Superman's Surrender

Man of Steel has always had a slight presence on the web since the beginning but the viral stuff has been pretty background until last couple of days. The viral kicked it into overdrive and went all out with multiple websites and times. We finally got the video that it all led up to and it's pretty awesome, I have to say. Michael Shannon as General Zod is going to be perfect.

The video is Zod telling the people of Earth, we have been keeping one of his citizens and he wants the dude back. Well, is Superman going to go back without a fight? I don't think so. Check out the eerie video of Zod giving Superman 24 hours to surrender. Also, the new trailer is rumored to be online soon.

Man of Steel flies into theaters on June 14th

Check it out after the jump!

Spider-Man 4 Storyboards + Venom Art Hit the Web!

What if Spider-Man 4 was made and released instead of the reboot The Amazing Spider-Man? We may never know, but that is a perfect example of what we wonder how Spidey would have turned out differently. So all those people saying "There was going to be a Spider-Man 4?!", yes there was, and it was hyped to fix all the wrong number 3 did to the character and series.

The film was rushed into production with casting of John Malkovich as Vulture and Anne Hathaway as Black Cat. (just imagine those casting choices and ponder, would she take the role of Catwoman, which she made perfect?) So Many questions!!!!

Storyboardist *is that a word? hmmm* Well, storyboard artist *lets go with that one*  Jefrey Henderson has worked with director Sam Raimi on the film and did the storyboards for it before Sony pulled the web down on the film. He decided now was a good time to share some of them with the fans, but not many because he is afraid Sam will hunt him down for showing them. So he posted these which he felt comfortable enough to do for us. Check them out below with a cool drawing of Venom he did for Spider-Man 3 and a sweet spidey suit!

Check out the Venom and Amazing Spider-Man sketches after the jump!

Comics: Does Batman Get Carrie Kelley as New Robin?!

This month was marketed early as being a WTF moment heavy and than those labels disappeared. I think its safe to say that this book was meant to have one of those labels. I'm sorry if I'm going to spoil what happened to Damian Wayne in Batman Incorporated #8, you are just slow at reading, but he died and Batman needs the other half of the dynamic duo. Speculation has run afar trying to piece who will take up the bird mantle, with guesses ranging from Harper Row (my guess) to a random return of Stephanie Brown (we all wish). Well maybe we found one! and I didn't see it coming at all.

NY Post did an article on the new Batman and Red Robin #19 and they reveal that the ginger girl in tights on the cover is exactly that! Carrie Kelley! Is she the new robin or is it a dream? Writer Peter Tomasi gives us answers sort of.

“This is not an alternate-earth Robin, this is simply a girl named Carrie Kelley, who we learn knew Damian, which in turn weaves her into the fabric of the DC Universe for the first time in 25 years. Said writer Peter Tomasi.

“What you'll find out once you crack the book, is that she's not exactly the ‘new Robin,’ but I don't want to spoil the story and her introduction into Bruce Wayne/Batman's life. In regards to how long she'll be around, let's just say that it's a helluva lot longer than ‘one issue.’ I've got plans for Carrie that play well into the future.”

I know everyone is thinking this is just a dream or a big stunt by DC to get that WTF Moment, but Peter says nope.

“It's all real,” he said. “It's all in continuity. It's all part of the Batman universe in the here and now. Carrie Kelley has found her way into The New 52 and she's here to stay - in what capacity is anybody's guess - except mine of course.”

What are your thoughts on the introduction of Carrie Kelley into New 52 continuity? She hasn't been in any other universe besides Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and it's sequel.

Pick & Pull: April 3, 2013 - Age of Ultron, Thanos Rising, Uber + More!

You know the drill fellow nerdisters (thats a world right?). Pick & Pull time is here and this week is very Marvel sided and independent sided. That isn't a bad thing at all. Marvel has some big stuff going down for the next few months and its all here now and its big. Also, we get a pretty decent sized new series. Check them out!

Highlights:

Age of Ultron #4 - Marvel has quite a big story on their hands with this series and its getting more epic every week. This week has some big turns and will likely start some fan fighting!

Thanos Rising #1 - with Ultron being a major book, why not give other publishers another punch with Thanos? He will have a huge part in Marvels future in comics and movies. We know that. Although, do we know that much about him? I think not. So Marvel has this sweet series to get us better aquatinted with the purple guy.

Uber #0 - I don't like how books do a #0, but this series made up with having a oversized issue that is very nice. All you really need to know is you have supersoliders and WWII.

Abe Sapien #1 - We love Hellboy and the whole universe he is in. We all love Abe. Great Idea give him his own ongoing series. Oh wait! They are doing that this week and it will be awesome!

Action Comics #19 - Here is a DC book that was in need of a lot of help. It has a new creative team behind it that hopefully can turn this forgettable series into a greatness and the first issue is shaping up nicely with them.

Legendary Robert Redford Cast as Head Guy of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Captain America: The Winter Solider

Legendary actor/director Robert Redford broke the news last week he was cast in Captain America: The Winter Solider, but we were left in dark on what role. Light has been bestowed upon us straight from the man himself!

In an interview he stated "“Well, the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. The head of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Now, you can't get any more direct than that can you? That leaves the door open to who exactly his character will be. Can he portray an older version of Nick Fury? A new character completely? or an older version of one of Captains allies from WWII? We must know Rob!! Hopefully soon but expect it to start filming shortly.

It will be released on April 4, 2014 starring Chris Evans returning as Captain America/Steve Rodgers, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Samuel L. Jackson, and others.

Paramount Pictures Wants another G.I. Joe Movie in Near Future

Paramount Pictures announced they want to do another sequel in the G.I. Joe franchise after the second film G.I. Joe: Retaliation did exceptionally good at box office opening weekend with the second biggest opening in March with $51 million. Also, it had a smaller budget than the first ill-fated film with $130 million compared to $175 million and it made back it's budget worldwide opening. So of course Paramount wants some more muscles and ninjas in the future.

So expect the third outing sometime likely between 2015-2017

Trailer and Poster for 2 Guns released!

A lot of comic book adaptations come and go, with a few worthy of a good cast and story. 2 Guns is looking to be one of those movies coming out soon. The fantastic duo cast of Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg, with the great story will for sure make this a must see.

For the past 12 months, DEA agent Bobby Trench (Washington) and U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman (Wahlberg) have been reluctantly attached at the hip. Working undercover as members of a narcotics syndicate, each man distrusts his partner as much as the criminals they have both been tasked to take down.

When their attempt to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel and recover millions goes haywire, Trench and Stigman are suddenly disavowed by their superiors. Now that everyone wants them in jail or in the ground, the only person they can count on is the other. Unfortunately for their pursuers, when good guys spend years pretending to be bad, they pick up a few tricks along the way.

2 Guns shoots into theaters on August 2nd

Pick & Pull: March 27, 2013 - Guardians of Galaxy,B.P.R.D., Batman Inc. + More

It's that time of the week again and this week we have some pretty cool things happening fellow comic enthusiasts. We have some more repercussions of Robins untimely demise, a brand new series starting up with a wild favorite team, and a cool extension of an always favorite.

Highlights

Guardians of the Galaxy #1 - This series has so much potential after that amazing prelude we had a little bit back. I can see this becoming a for sure pull from now on. Check out if you want to see how this team comes together.

B.P.R.D: Vampire #1 (of 5) - I loved the story that this is a continuation of and with this one featuring the likes of Gabriel Ba and Fabio Moon, expect some awesomeness.

Batman Incorporated #9 - The last issue changed everything for Batman/Bruce Wayne and we will see where this will take him. A must see!

Teen Titans #19 - Red Robin's problems are still bad and getting worse. What will happen to him or effect the others? Also, features Suicide Squad, which is a plus in my book.

Pick & Pull: March 13, 2013 - Batman, Batman and Robin, Wolverine + More

It's finally here folks, Sorry for the late post but here are this weeks Pick & Pulls. They are actually very Batman related because of the recent events that have shaken the family. We get a comic book that is all silent for a special bird boy that passed away. *sniff* and a brand new series of a mutant favorite.

Highlights

Batman and Robin #18 - This issue is very interesting because we are going to give Robin a moment of silence, well a whole issue. Ya thats right a whole comic with no dialogue I believe. Can't miss this!

Batman #18 - This series has become my favorite comic in recent history with Scott Snyder taking the Bat into a fantastic world and depth I haven't seen in years. This issue will also deal with Batmans loss of his son.

Wolverine #1 - Here isn't something Batman related, but equally awesome in every way. A new series about Wolverine that is rumored to be pretty awesome. So this is much check out!

Sledgehammer 44 #1 - This is a Hellboy character kicking some butt in world war II era and basically is a twisted version of Iron Man. Pretty awesome I know.

Hoax Hunters #8 - This series is kind of just filling my void of supernatural investigators until The X-Files makes it's return this summer. I am so excited. Oh ya this series is still pretty awesome and check out if you like stuff like that.

Pick & Pull: March 6th, 2013 - Age of Ultron, Superman, Detective Comics, + More

It's that time again fellow brotherhood of Mutants (just kidding we are good kids right? Righhht?). This weeks pick & pull includes a finale to a big arc to a hero, A look at a hero after a big loss in family, and the new age of a villain that has been due to show up sooner or later.

Highlights

Age of Ultron #1 - This series has been lingering around just waiting to come out with little bits of it being planted even way back in Avengers Vs X-Men series. We are going to see Ultron evolve and try to take over the earth and destroy humanity as we know it. Pretty exciting I know. The only people that can stop it is just about everyone in the Marvel universe take down this thing in a massive 10 part series.

Detective Comics #18 - Batman will be taking on a huge foe we all know is pretty crazy awesome. The Penguin. Batman just went through a very traumatizing time losing his one and only son and what better way to go rage crazy than take it out on Gotham scum. We will start to see how the death is affecting Bruce on a very personal level in this issue.

Superman #18 - The final issue in the "H'EL On Earth" story arc and it is a doozy. To win the final fight with H'EL, one of the members must make a fatale sacrifice to stop it. Some s@#$ goes down in this issue that will have repercussions.

Batman: Gotham By Gaslight (TB) - This is kind of a extra little thing I added that I think any Batman fan would love. This is the collection of an amazing elseworlds series that has Batman pitted against Jack The Ripper in a crazy battle in Gotham in the 1800s. Sounds cool, thats because it is.

More next week

Pick & Pull: February 27th, 2013 - Batman Incorporated,Guardians of Galaxy + More

Its another issue of Pick & Pull folks! This time, we are going to give you, some big @#$% thats going down in the Batman family, a closer look at a big team that will be emerging soon, and what on earth did the Joker do to Red Robin? Big week guys.

Highlights:

Batman Incorporated #8 - This is the issue writer Grant Morrison has been building up too. The Batman family will be shaken big time by this loss. That is all I will say about this issue. A Must read.

Guardians of the Galaxy #0.1 - This is the start of, what will hopefully be, an amazing series. This is a special prelude comic to get you newbies (me included) caught up on just who this Star-Lord guy is, and how he became him.

Teen Titans #17- The Death of a Family storyline is over, but the aftermath is still taking affect. The team is starting to notice something is off about Red Robin. Read to find out.

Young Avengers #2 - The first issue was pretty awesome and gave us one crazy cliffhanger that just wanted us all to see what happened next. Here is that issue. We get guest stars Uncanny Avengers and a mystery guest from a characters past. Pretty exciting stuff here.

Till next week!

Comics: Batman Incorporated #8 Spoilers

We finally are given the word on what will happen to young Damian Wayne in Batman Incorporated #8. So to catch everyone up on what is happening, a few weeks ago, a comic book retailer tweeted the image of the new issue that featured Robin (Damian Wayne) in the exact same pose as his father Batman (Bruce Wayne) in Batman #676. Here is the new cover below:

We all started to theorize what this meant for the still relevtivaly new character Damian. Would He die? Was this just a cash-in cover? Is it a metaphor? Who knows..oh wait we do now. Thanks to the New York Post doing a huge article on it.

Spoilers!!!

Damian Wayne will die! *sad face*. Yep, Damien's creator Grant Morrison said that he will die for like real. “It’s all about the family and the family going to hell,” said Morrison, who threw in elements of his own parents’ divorce. “The two adults in the story are both culpable. The kid’s the good guy.”

Do we know how long he will stay dead? or is it for good good? I'm full of theories. For instance, since he is half al Ghul, I can see him going back to the Lazareth pit and coming back.

We will find out more when the issue hits stands. I was really started to like the kid too..

Comics: Batman/Superman Comic Returning for New 52

DC is finally bringing back one of the bigger books fans have been wondering if it will ever pop back up in the New 52. Batman/Superman has always been a reader favorite because of the interaction between DC's biggest heroes. USA Today broke the story that they plan on bringing it back this June with writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee.

Greg Pak is widely known to be a Marvel boy doing World War Hulk and X-Men, but he couldn't pass up the offer to take on a ongoing series of Batman and Superman. Also, Jae Lee has been fantastic doing Inhumans art. So expect a great team up here.

During the interview Pak stated "It is a real thrill, and it's particularly a thrill because we're being given some real leeway to do some really important storytelling with these characters. It really defines some great things and to depict some really key moments for them."

Pak is taking this book back to the very beginning. Back to when Superman became a hero for the first time rocking the jeans and t-shirt, than to the point where Batman and Superman meet for the first time. This is something big and sweet to finally see in the New 52. The first story arc will not only have a threat of evil, but these 2 guys figuring things out themselves. Interesting.

"What would your reaction be if you saw a guy running around in a bat costume in the dead of night attacking people for the first time? And what would your reaction be if you met an alien who could crush steel in his bare hands for the first time?"Pak continues "These guys are going to have very different immediate impressions of each other than we're used to seeing with these characters."

Expect great things in this new comic kicking off this June. I'll for sure be there to pick it up!

Pick & Pull: February 20th, 2013 - Justice League of America, Nova, + More

This weeks Pick & Pull is coming out to be another strong week of releases with a New Justice League teaming coming out made of all our favorites that need more page space, to a teen becoming a hero, and a new gunslinger story.

Highlights:

Justice League of America #1 - This isn't just another Justice League book to add to the catalog for the hell of it. This is a book that will give some of the best heroes their due time to shine in a book. This isn't the big team like Batman or Superman, but the cool guys like Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, and Catwoman (weird, yet so awesome). Check this out!

Nova #1 - This hero was in need of his own series to tell his tale. If you have seen the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon and loved Nova, well, check out this book written by the great Jeph Loeb. It isn't all about the whole space battle scene but even more about getting to know the character and his relationships with family.

The Sixth Gun: Sons of the Gun #1 The Sixth Gun is one fantastic series that is making waves in comic world and tv worlds. Expect to see a lot of this series in future, but for now check out this book. It gives us what many have been wondering and wanting to know. That is more info on General Hume's horsemen.

Justice League of America's Vibe #1 - We all wanted to get a more personal look at this young heroes life. Co-written by Geoff Johns, we are in for a treat in this journey. Get to see why exactly JLA wants this guy on the team.

Deadpool #5 - This series is pretty far out there with some great humor by comedian Brian Posehn. The only thing I have to say is Deadpool fighting Ronald Reagan….in space!?! Ya you heard me right…space..
