Lucasfilm Getting Sold to Disney! Star Wars Episode 7 in 2015!!

Lucasfilm is getting sold to Disney!! *jaw dropped* Star Wars Episode 7 coming in 2015!?! *jaw hit the floor* I totally saw this coming guys…not really. I knew something big was going to happen with Lucasfilm soon, after George Lucas has been looking to secure a good future for his baby, but selling to Disney wasn't in my sights. It's a smart move on their part.

The whole press release is long and pretty awesome read but some highlights are:

Disney will buy Lucasfilm for a small price of $4.05 billion! Pocket change for the House of Mouse.

Current co-chairman Kathleen Kennedy will become President of Lucasfilm. Sorry George.

Disney will intrigate Star Wars into Disney theme parks in Anaheim, Orlando, Paris and Tokoyo. Pretty sweet! We can see Goofy and Chewie break it down in the park music show.

And lastly the little tidbit that Disney wants to release Star Wars Episode 7 in 2015!!! Not just one movie but release a new trilogy with films getting released every 2 years! It's all crazy I know it's freaking me out just a little..but pretty awesome to know George said he has story treatments for 7, 8, 9 and even farther in future. This man plans ahead. He realizes he created something bigger than him and it's so good to know he is fully aware of it and accepting enough to help with it. He will remain on hand during the film production as creative consultant/Yoda on shoulder.

A sad thing that was mentioned in a press conference is Indiana Jones will be put on ice for the near future with George saying they will concentrate on Star Wars franchise for time being. So no Dr. Jones going off getting into some trouble with some foreign nations bad guys over an artifact that belongs in a museum. *man cry*

Here is the full press release and videos of them discussing Star Wars future. (very informative) and next video is the signing of papers for the acquisition with a speech by Lucas before it. (pretty good too).

Matthew Vaughn Not Directing X-Men: Days of Future Past but Bryan Singer is in Running!

This news came to a shock to me that Vaughn is getting out of the directors chair for his sequel film X-Men: Days of Future Past. The good news is he will still be around as producer, even better news is X-Men 1 and 2 director Bryan Singer is on top of list of replacement directors!

It seems that Vaughn and Singer are pulling the old switch-a-roo on the production. Singer was producer of First Class and helped write the script for it, so he is no stranger to the prequels of his own films. I have faith in the decisions and hope Singer accepts because he will need a rebound good film after Jack The Giant Slayer (formally Killer) will be horrible. Just speculation but have you seen the trailer!? Lets all campaign for Bryan Singer to return to the series he helped make and make it better.

More news to come

New 'A Good Day To Die Hard' Trailer and Bad Poster

A new trailer and just horrendous poster for A Good Day to Die Hard is now online from sources iTunes Trailers and EW.

The trailer isn't horrible, but gives us some looks at the old McClane family having a great time together killing bad guys making jokes and not hugging it out. Also, I'm loving the horrible audio in beginning of trailer with them bleeping out the MotherF'r part (Yayy they allow him to say it!!). Still looks like a good movie though.

The poster on the other hand is just stupid. Yippee Ki-yay Mother Russia is a classic saying, I mean sounds fantastic. *sigh*. Just please don't allow him to say it in the movie…please.. I will walk out saying "Nope! Im done.)..

Since the first Die Hard in 1988, John McClane has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing, making him enemy #1 for terrorists the world over. Now, McClane faces his greatest challenge ever, this time on an international stage, when his estranged son Jack is caught up in the daring prison escape of a rogue Russian leader, and father and son McClane must work together to keep each other alive and keep the world safe for democracy.

Here is the trailer and poster for A Good Day To Die Hard hitting theaters on February 13, 2013

First Trailer for 'Iron Man 3' has Arrived

The trailer for Iron Man 3 has arrived as promised from Apple Trailers. My first reactions to it are holy cow! this is going to awesome! They went dark for the third time around and it fits nicely.

The trailer gives us so many clues to the plot and where the Marvel Cinematic Universe is heading for phase II. We get confirmation that it does take place after the event in The Avengers with hearing how what happened in New York affected him. Also, we see how Tony is breaking down and probably regretting unveiling who he is now. Good thinking Batman for staying hidden.

The next biggest question from the trailer for me is "will the Mandarin have ties to Captain America?!" watch the trailer below and when we see Ben Kingsley from behind we see the Captain America shield  tattooed to his back. Did he get drunk one night and do it? was it a dare? who knows?

Here is the trailer

Official 'Iron Man 3' Poster and Ben Kinglsley as Mandarin

This is going to be a big week for Marvel, especially Iron Man because we have been given an official poster for the film and a first creepy image of the big bad villain The Mandarin. Also, the best part is the  trailer gets released tomorrow!!

The first poster gives us a great look at armor trophy case I mean Hall of Armor. It looks pretty sweet and full of lots of Iron. It shall hold me up until the trailer premieres.

New Iron Man 3 Movie Poster

An extra cool little tidbit given out today is the first image of Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin! He looks very creepy and great pube beard if i do say so myself. Put's my uncle Tommy to shame. Check it out

Warner Bros. Want Justice League Film for 2015!

I have already said this news a few months ago when it was rumored Ben Affleck was directing the film. Well, after the big win of WB over the Superman creators family just the other day, we will get a Justice League film for sure.

LA Times said the studio wants to "accelerate development" of the film and get it into production and finished by next year (holy sh$% batman! that is not very much time). I mean they don't even have a director or producers hired yet! Maybe they meant film from 2013-2014 for release in 2015. More reasonable I would say. Also, rumors say the film would have Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern (with maybe more). I'm rooting for Green Arrow and Martian Manhunter.

This is still odd approach by WB not following in Marvel's steps of single films before the big united film and squaring off against The Avengers 2. WB plans to release Justice League first with rebooting Batman and hopefully Green Lantern in it and going into single films after. Maybe it will work ehhhh.

More to Come!

Ghostbusters 3 Shooting Summer 2013

I know after years of false starts and even with the optimism of Dan Aykroyd telling us it's happening any moment now, we would start getting use to dismissing all news about the sequel. Well, seems some big news has made it's way in open about if it will get made (without Bill Murray though, boooooo).

Deadline did a update on Ivan Reitman's football film 'Draft Day' getting tossed out by Paramount but threw in some tidbits about why the move came about.

They stated a reason is "Paramount chose not to make it in the small window that Reitman has before he is expected to finally get the long-gestating Ghostbusters reboot in front of the cameras next summer for Sony Pictures (sans Bill Murray)." There you have it folks. No football movie for a Ghostbusters sequel! Sounds perfect to me.

Now take this news lightly for now because of the previous false alarms and misquoted sayings. Lets hope though!!

Awesome 'Carrie' Teaser Trailer !

The first trailer for the remake of the classic film Carrie hit the web, actually looks pretty great! The film is for sure showing you they took the destruction aspect of the book to the full scale unlike the original. I love that they showed that just in the teaser trailer. Chloe is going to be amazing for the role and is really going to make a name for herself in near future, if not so already.

Carrie bloodies up the box office on March 15, 2013

Ant-Man Gets A Release Date!!

Ant-Man was something that has been in the shadows of Marvel for sometime and we got a pretty sweet sneak at what was in the making at SDCC earlier this year. Well, Disney has made it official! The release date announced today and it's a little far away but close enough to still get all of us nerds going.

The release date is November 6, 2015!

The Avengers 2 will be released will hit theaters May 1, 2015. So a few months before.

The news is likely but I was/am hoping for him to be included in The Avengers 2 as a character but I guess a solo film after it will be a big winner too. I wonder if he will be cameoed or big player in The Avengers 2 or not at all. Who knows (Joss Whedon does that sly boy)? Nonetheless, I am very excited for this character And to see what the film will have in for us Phase III of the Marvel Universe!

NYCC: Agent Coulson Will Star in TV Series S.H.I.E.L.D !!

At NYCC this weekend, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb announced that Agent Phil Coulson will return but to the small screen in the live-action pilot 'Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D'! I'm excited! I thought we saw "SPOILER" end of him after he died in The Avengers "SPOILER" sorry if I hurt some of you but if you didn't see the movie yet its all your fault I ruined it just sayin.. anyways.

Clark Gregg made a surprise appreance that the panel to announce it with a video of Joss Whedon and Kevin Feige. The pilot will be co-written between the Joss and Jed Whedon.

NYCC: First Official Pic from Evil Dead Remake

The Evil Dead crew were at New York Comic-Con this weekend showing off the new reboot/remake and a lot of good things were said about it. They revealed a sweet creepy image of Henriette peering out of the basement hatch of the infamous cabin.

Also, the attendees were shown a special red band trailer of the remake that gave off a very familiar feel and updated feel at same time. They famous scenes with a possessed hand, raping tree, and the all famous chainsaw were included and given great applause. Pretty sweet sounding!

The Evil Dead gets released on April 12, 2013

Let's Help Make The Goon Movie Happen!!

Kickstarter is something that is making Hollywood and Music Industries a run for it's money. I love the idea of the people helping the filmmakers get filmed produced or band produce their next album and get a sweet incentive for helping. Well, a very special Kickstarter campaign has started for a project I've love to see get made so lets help get this film funded. I've been waiting for this film to get made for over 2 years, I even posted trailer way back then!

The Goon is a project that has great potential for a film with some big players behind the camera helping get it made like David Fincher (Fight Club, Zodiac, The Social Network) is producing. That is awesome and maybe the best person to help guide it into getting made.

They are only asking for $400,000 to get this film a Story Reel (basically animated storyboard with the voices and sound effects) to show to hollywood people to get backing. I'm excited! Lets do this because after 1 day they already have over $70,000!

Here is the Kickstarter Video that explains it all along with some cool art and the original trailer posted a few years ago.

Arrow Pilot Review

Arrow has been on my must-see list for a few months now, because we need a Smallville replacement. After watching the pilot, I think we have found a replacement that succeeds where we never expected in CW universes. Action and badassness.

SPOILERS AHEAD!! READ AT OWN RISK!!

Arrow is the story of Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow, oh I mean "Arrow". Everything has to be shortened down in todays world for some reason. Well, anyway the story is about Oliver's return after being presumed dead for 5 years, while actually being stranded on a island. He was a big billionaire playboy who was known just for that and seemed to be just that type of Dbag. Then the Island changes him over those 5 years to become something different, something noble, becoming a hero.

The pilot opened up with the very cool rescue of Ollie who looks like a younger Tom Hanks from Cast Away. We see right off the back the amazing skill this person has acquired physically, mentally and with a Bow. Yes the famous bow. He is rescued by some fisherman with a kind of bad monologue and heads back to Starling City.

I'll try to keep more vague with the plot points because I shouldn't have to explain much more than it's very very similar to the Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy. Billionaire Kid is presumed dead, comes back from dead, takes up the mantle of an unknown hero. Still in love with the girl they left behind. Even if this time she has a great reason for not wanting to be with him. Who in there right mind would sleep with girlfriends sister on a cruise with your dad?

Alright even though the two stories are very similar it works overly well for the tv series. This is basically the 2nd tier Batman, since CW always wanted to get Batman origins series. Good thinking guys because Green Arrow is an underused character that is very cool. I like the similar background to realism and origins with Batman world because they change things to make it standout in a good way.

One very different thing I love about the show that makes it different from Smallville or any Batman series. Arrow kills. It's very odd having a DC Comics hero that kills air on a national channel. Pretty awesome finding that out.

Arrow does have great perks with having an engaging plot that leaves you wanting more, pretty fantastic action not usually scene on CW, and a realistic world. These points make this show a must tune in every week to see what happens next.

You thought I was going to leave it with no mean words. Well, I have a few but I believe they can work it out in later episodes. The dialogue is pretty kiddish and not very well written. They need to bring in some better writers for later episodes. And I do like the Stephen Amell as Oliver, but he isn't the best actor and has the same face in a lot of shots that require emotion. He smiles almost and it kind of makes me mad. Just saying.

The plot points that were set up for later episodes are very intriguing and leave me wanting more. Also, the Lost-style flashbacks during the episodes are leaving vast space for later episodes and season ,even, to see what happened to him on that island that transformed him. I love it.

I have found my Smallville replacement!

Pilot episode gets a

B+

Pixar Making Toy Story of Terror Tv Special

Pixar has made of few of these in the past, but this one could end up being my favorite one of all because it's Toy Story halloween themed. I see so much potential for great story and jokes. The official synopsis offers some really cool ideas that we will maybe have a psycho reference or two. I can live with that.

Here is synopsis and a temporary logo for the special

What starts out as a fun road trip for the "Toy Story" gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this "Toy Story of Terror."

No news on if Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will come back to voice Buzz Lightyear and Woody respectfully. I would imagine so since they have every film and short so far. More news to follow in future.

First Trailer of The Lone Ranger with lots of Johnny Depp

The trailer is finally here for Gore Verbinksi's The Lone Ranger and it actually looks pretty descent. Actually shows some good footage of the cool style of film with main characters (or more of Johnny Depp than the main person). I have faith in the film, but we need more Lone Ranger Armie Hammer or as most know him as the rich twins from The Social Network. Here is trailer and synopsis.

“The Lone Ranger” is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption."

The Lone Ranger rides into theaters on July 3rd, 2013

First Look at Deadshot on The CW's Arrow

The CW is getting very close to premiering their return to DC Comics lore with Arrow. I will say I love the more gritty look that is coming up more and more with comic book shows and films. Arrow looks promising and I'm pretty interested in seeing how the villains will turnout being different looking than comics.

I am in a need for a Smallville replacement! So Wednesday October 10th can't get here soon enough.

Here is first look at Deadshot (Michael Rowe)
