First Look: The Dark Knight Trilogy Box Sets!

This is my holy grail of stuff I'm wanting for Christmas this year (besides a X-Files "I want to believe"  poster)! After I saw the different designs they are doing for The Dark Knight Rises release, I want them all!

The Dark Knight Rises will hit Blu-ray and DVD on December 3rd this year. Also, since we have the end of the trilogy, we will get a box set that is awesome in every way.

Check out all these images of the pretty amazing looking Broken Cowl set that will go nicely with my bat pod set, but the gem of the bunch is the box set case that incorporates the bat symbol in the atmosphere design of each film. Pretty spectacular. Check all of them out below.

First Official Pic of Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine!!

Hugh Jackman is a beast to say the least. The Wolverine has been in production for a little bit of time for now, but we are now getting our first official look at Hugh in his Wolverine glory. The hair is a little short, but we can work with that because just look at his physique! I'm pretty sure nobody wan't to mess with a guy that cut with big pointy claws.

The image is pretty cool to get a hint of Japanese atmosphere with background and color. This film is looked as a stand-alone film and not a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine (because it sucked so bad, I mean nice animated claws that makes Terminator 2 look like state of art *actually it does still I think* )

The Wolverine hitting theaters on July 26, 2013

The Collection Trailer and Cool Banner!

I am a really big fan of the first film The Collector because it is awesome crazy story to have a thief break into a house the same night a freak has made the house a looney toon style death trap in every room with the family stuck inside. Awesome. Well, This film is getting a sequel called The Collection (catchy, I know). The action looks great with some great set-ups and deaths to come, but maybe a little too similar to Saw. Maybe thats the plan to make a new franchise with it. I would love that!
Synopsis: When Elena’s (Emma Fitzpatrick) friends take her to a secret party at an undisclosed location, she never imagined she would become the latest victim of The Collector, a psychopathic killer. The Collector kidnaps and transports her to an abandoned hotel he’s transformed into his own private maze of torture and death. Upon learning of his daughter’s disappearance, Elena’s wealthy father (Christopher McDonald) hires a group of mercenaries to retrieve her from the vicious grips of The Collector. These mercenaries coerce Arkin (Josh Stewart), the only man to have escaped the wrath of this heinous monster, to lead them through the gruesome labyrinth. Now, Arkin finds himself fighting for his own life in order to save Elena. “The Collection,” directed by Marcus Dunstan and written by Dunstan and Patrick Melton, is a suspense horror film with nonstop thrills at every turn, starring Josh Stewart (The Dark Knight Rises), Emma Fitzpatrick (The Social Network), and Christopher McDonald (Requiem for a Dream).
The Collection hits theaters on November 30th

Pacific Rim Is Getting Converted to 3D Against del Toro's Wishes

Yep, you heard that right. Pacific Rim is getting converted to 3D under Warner Bros. authority. This will come as a shock to most of you because we heard from the man himself, Guillermo del Toro, that he is against 3D in this film. He noticeably said it at SDCC earlier this year saying:
“I didn’t want to make the movie 3D because when you have things that big, the thing that happens naturally is you’re looking at two buildings at 300 feet.  If you move, the buildings don’t go like this (moves his hands closer together), there’s no parallax.  They’re so big that you barely notice anything no matter how fast you’re moving, so to force the 3D effect on robots and monsters that are supposed to be that high, you’re making them miniaturized, you’re making them human-scale.  I knew that the 3D effect sounded like a great idea, but it was gonna be counter.”
So, unfortunately the studio will always get their way in the end to make more money. Since 3D cost more for a ticket it should be a bigger hit, especially overseas. This film is about giant robots and monsters fighting and set in some parts of Japan…big bucks to be made in the Asian markets.

The film will still be released in 2D along with 3D. So, hopefully del Toro works something out great to make the film work in 3D and still normal in 2D. I hate conversations that are horrible. Best of wishes to you del Toro.

What do you think about the change? Will you still see it?

Editorial: Top 8 Robert Downey, Jr. Films

Robert Downey, Jr. is an actor who has seen every aspect of Hollywood from being on the D-list all the way to a comeback to A-list where he belongs. Downey started his career a few decades ago as a child and grew more fame in 80's appearing as a distant "Brat Pack" member. He started to take a more serious tone in the early 90's with academy recognition. Although, his career hit a wall in mid 90's to early 00's with multiple personal problems that affected his career also. He fought to gain back that recognition he once had he overly succeeded at breaking though the wall. Here are his best works to date and notice that all appear after his comeback except one.

8.  Weird Science (1985)

This is back when Robert was still a kid doing the bully roles he is oh so good at. He was the perfect bully as Ian in Weird Science to Michael Anthony Hall and IIan Mitchell-Smith. He was funny and cool and a d-bag at same time. Even though his role was small and before his break-through he was memorable. This is the film that opened up the world to Robert Downey Jr.

7. A Scanner Darkly (2006)

Here is another film that Downey was a supporting cast member and stole the show in the end. His character James Barris is really great at showing how he can be manipulative of others and not show it easily, while still being funny and personable. He has a scene where he buys a bike and that one scene is maybe the most memorable and funniest. If your a fan of Downey doing his whole rants and talking fast then this film is for you.

6.  Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Sherlock Holmes is Robert Downey Jr. plain and simple. This was not the Sherlock you have read for decades and always thought he was brilliant and without good humor or likability. This interpretation is brilliant with fantastic humor and he is lovable to all. How could Watson ever want to quit the team? The accent is dead on and Downey really does acting that isn't in his comfort zone.

5. The Avengers (2012)

I know everyone is shocked that the 3rd highest grossing film of all-time and biggest nerd/geek movie ever is number 5 on the list. Here me out first on why this must be. Downey was a huge factor going into this film, even though he is a big part of it he isn't the biggest shining one. Bruce Banner stole the show and it was his time to shine. Tony had his moment a few years back. Stark was on his A-game the entire film and proved he was just as big a leader as Captain America. This is still the same Stark we saw in first Iron man (just a little more grown up) but still noteworthy to list in top 5 and for sure the top best of the year.

You must see what the Top 4 Robert Downey, Jr. films are to be satisfied with the list

Rumor: Viggo Mortensen is Dr. Strange in Thor: The Dark World?!

The rumors for the next phase in Marvel films have finally hit and it's not the most far-out there idea. Most of the rumors I will talk about in years to come won't turn out real or pan out. Some get through the filter as real and happen. This rumor that Viggo Mortensen could take the mantle of Dr. Strange in Thor: The Dark World should be taken more seriously than others because of the source.

The source is (believe it or not but do) is a twitter feed by an person named Roger Wardell, who has confirmed some reliable information in past way before the official statement. So, I will take this rumor more seriously knowing that.

He tweeted:  "“Inside News: There’s something “Strange” about Thor: The Dark World" and in a separate text "“Inside News: Marvel is negotiations with Viggo Mortensen for an unspecified role in one of their Phase 2 films”"
So naturally, put the tweets together and boom a good casting call that does make sense. Take it as you will, but Dr. Strange is a bigger character in the universe and a script for a solo film has been in development for a few years now. A few domains have been bought in Strange's name a while back. He is coming sooner or later.

CW Developing Smallville-Style Wonder Woman Series 'Amazon'

Wonder Woman is trying very hard to get back in big leagues with Batman and Superman. We had a failed pilot for NBC last year, A script is in-development for a feature film and she will show up in the Justice League film in 2015. Well, folks she has been granted a new development treatment for The CW.

I made this so don't think it's official..I know its pretty legit looking too.
The CW and Warner Bros. Tv are developing a new tv series based around the earlier years/origins of Wonder Woman in the style of Smallville. The Series is called Amazon and has attached the great Allan Heinberg to helm the script and take it from there. Heinberg is ,possibly, the best person for the job, being a huge tv writer for female leads (The O.C., Gilmore Girls, and Grey's Anatomy) . Also he is a great comic book writer with works including Young Avengers, and, interesting enough, the Wonder Woman series. (Yep he knows his Amazonians well).

It should be noted that the series Amazon has not been picked up for production of the series, but it's only in developmental stages and hopefully gets a great script in and pilot filmed. I actually want to see this one.

Awesome: Assassin's Creed Meets Pakour in Real Life!

This is a pretty awesome fan-made video of Assassin's Creed (AC) being made in real life doing stunts from the game in a city and off of buildings doing the sensation pakour. (I guess that is all the games are really based around is parkour.) Check out Ronnie Shalvis playing AC's Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad doing scary and cool stunts in a city. Also, don't try this at home because he makes it look like its so easy and all of us normal people feel like we can do it too. Guess what? we can't heads up *saving your life right now you can thank me later*.

Check out the behind the scenes feature to see how they did it all and that beautiful CGI shot at beginning.

Finally.. 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' Trailer

Seriously…I have been waiting over a year to see something just anything for this movie. Even becoming on my list of films to see for this year because I built it up in my mind as an awesome action flick with Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton killing witches. I really want to believe this film will be action/comedy/horror all the way in the right ways..but I still have some faith in it after the trailer. The film will for sure have a b-movie feel to it with the overused one-liners and shots.

Also, the film really feels like a spin-off of Terry Gilliam's Brother Grimm with atmosphere, shots, humor, even Peter Stomare in it. I don't believe it to all be bad so lets give it a shot shall we. Here is the trailer for yourself and poster,

Catching up with Hansel (Renner) and Gretel (Arterton) 15 years after the traumatic incident involving a gingerbread house, the siblings have evolved into vengeful bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches. Over the years, the siblings became expert hunters, famous for their proficiency at tracking and taking down their prey. Although still recovering from their ordeal, their work is relatively easy as for an unknown reason harmful spells and curses do not work well against them.
The Mayor of Augsburg recruits them to rid the town and nearby forests of an evil sorceress (Famke Janssen) who is planning to sacrifice many local children at the witches’ gathering during the upcoming ‘Blood Moon’ night in two days time. To make things worse, the duo also has to deal with the brutal Sheriff Berringer (Peter Stormare) who has taken power in Augsburg and conducts a very indiscriminate witch-hunt of his own.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters goes to theaters on January 11, 2013

Jim Carrey Officially Joins 'Kick-Ass 2' !!

After weeks of speculation, Legendary Jim Carrey has joined the already awesome cast of the anticipated sequel Kick-Ass 2 as Colonel Stars! I have been noticeably a huge fan of Carrey since I was 4. Every kid wanted the Ace Ventura doo right??….just me? So this casting is a big plus in my book with shooting of the film starting in like 5 days!

The news came from the director himself on twitter when he tweeted:
6 days till we start shooting… and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f’n then!
I think the Ace Ventura catchphrase really gets the casting across pretty well. Carrey will play Colonel Stars, who once was an enforcer for the Genovese family that survived the Big Daddy and Hit-Girl massacre in Kick-Ass (actually mentioned in film). Well, he decides to switch sides and be a good guy with fellow enforcer and brother Lieutenant Stripes. I can't wait to see this film come together.

Everyone is returning from first film including Nic Cage as Big Daddy. Along with new characters from comics including Doctor Gravity (Donald Faison), Javier (John Leguizamo), and rumored Insect Man and Night Bitch.

Kick-Ass 2 will hit theaters on June 28th, 2013
