Cool Batman and Robin Sneakers

A really awesome guy named Daniel Reese paints shows for a living and I got to say they look amazing. He takes request from people and he tries to put an awesome design on some average Nike sneakers. He has a huge variety of versions from Call of Duty, Legos, Toy Story and many, many more.

He just finished these cool Batman and Robin Nikes and I really want to buy them bad. The problem is they are really expensive. They cost around 500 bucks in british money, I have no idea what that is in US currency.

Check them out at Brassmonki.com

Resistance 3 Teaser Trailer

I know the trailer has been out for about a week, but I'm posting it do to the demand of some of are readers.

The first teaser trailer for Resistance 3 is just a live-action trailer with no gameplay, but it is cool nonetheless. It seems to point out that the crazy chimera have destroyed a lot of the US, even the great city of St. Louis.

The horrible thing is while showing some cool stuff in the trailer, it shows nothing really about the plot. So, I guess fans will have to wait for the first trailer to get the plot and gameplay.

Resistance 3 will get released sometime in 2011

TRON: Evolution PS3 Collector's Edition Announced

We have only a few months until the highly-anticipated Tron: Legacy hits theaters and that means we will see the release of a video-game tie-in. I don't know if the game will be any good or not, but it has a freakin cool Collector's Edition.

The collector's edition of Tron: Evolution has $130 package that includes a cool light cycle model with the game. I just don't know if a model light cycle is worth $70 bucks.

Tron: Legacy hits theaters on December 17 and the game Tron: Evolution hits  Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC and PSP on November 1.

Trailer of the Week - 127 Hours

I know I am a few days late, but I was waiting to if anything would beat this film, but as you can see with other trailers I was wrong. 127 Hours looks well made and I think it has potential for some oscars.

127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's (James Franco) remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued. Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers (Clemence Poesy), family, and the two hikers (Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara) he met before his accident. Will they be the last two people he ever had the chance to meet? A visceral thrilling story that will take an audience on a never before experienced journey and prove what we can do when we choose life.

127 Hours hits theaters on November 5, 2010

Brad Pitt to Star in Red Dead Redemption Movie?

It seems that ShowbizSpy has got their hands on some potentially cool news. They say inside sources tell them that Mega-star Brad Pitt has been given first dibs to star in the film version of Red Dead Redemption as John Marston.

“This is an exciting project with a great character at the center of it,” a source said “The idea is to make this in the style of an epic Western movie but with a few modern touches."

Pitt has only maybe been given first refusal for the part, so it could be somebody else because the makers of the game Rockstar say this is nothing but a rumor right now.

So is this good or bad news. I think he can do it. How about you?

Will Forte Leaves Saturday Night Live

The New York Times is reporting that long time cast member Will Forte will not come back for the 36th season of Saturday Night Live this fall.

"The departure was confirmed by two people with direct knowledge of the show's planning but who were not allowed to speak on the record because 'Saturday Night Live' has not officially announced details of its coming season. Representatives for Mr. Forte and for NBC's late-night entertainment division did not immediately comment, but one of the sources said the parting was amicable and at the choosing of Mr. Forte, who plans to pursue other projects."

I personally hate this news. I am a huge fan of Forte and I even liked Macgruber. He has been on SNL since the 02-03 season and is leaving to pursue other interest.

Anna Paquin and Kristin Bell Cast in Scream 4

USA Today is reporting that Anna Paquin (True Blood) and Kristin Bell (Pulse) will have cameo's in the upcoming horror film Scream 4.

Anna Paquin and Kristin Bell
My best guess is the two will likely be the characters killed in the opening scene. It's just way to late to actually cast full roles, but just enough time to get some up-and-coming stars to have cameos in the beginning and killed within 10 minutes.

Also, it seems that the scipt just reached 140 pages, which means Scream 4 will be graciously long enough for hardcore fans like me. It sucks that Dimension films will probably cut it down drastically after test audiences that don't care about substance say it's to long.

Some good news is Scream 4 script just hit the 140 pages, which makes me so happy. This shows that they have one awesome twist and story to tell.

More good news is the production schedule has been extended from Labor day to September 24. They have more time for reshoots and script fine-tuning.

Scream 4 stabs into theaters on April 15, 2011.

The banned Piranha 3D TV ad

I don't know about you guys, but I think this TV ad isn't very bad at all. Although, I will admit it shows some things that you wouldn't want your kids watching during the commercial break of Gossip Girl.

It's so sad that this movie gets so much rejection. First they wouldn't let them have a panel at Comic-Con because footage was deemed to gory for the family convention. Now, this ad gets rejected from networks including FOX, The CW and even MTV.

Just take a look at it see if you think it's too adult to be shown on TV.

First "My Soul to Take" Trailer and Poster

I have waited what feels like years for the return of Wes Craven to his horror film roots. I am a huge fan of his films and it seems he is finally returning with a bang.

My Soul to Take is a film that I have really wondered about because it has a cool plot, but is similar to A Nightmare On Elm Street and I will admit it does have similarities, but it is effin Wes Craven. I also like the new title better than 25/8 because it seems to make more sense in U.S. and its creepier sounding with My Soul to Take. The bad news is it's getting a 3D conversion. I hate conversions.

In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psychopath been reincarnated as one of the seven teens, or did he survive the night he was left for dead? Only one of the kids knows the answer…

My Soul to Take hits theaters on October 8, 2010

George Clooney to be Frank Sinatra; Angelina Jolie to be Marilyn Monroe

Source: The Times

George Clooney and Angelina Jolie have been cast to star as 1950's "icons" Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe in the film adaptation of the upcoming novel The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend, Marilyn Monroe.

The book is by author Andrew O'Hagan and serves as a odd biopic of Marilyn Monroe told through the eyes of her Scottish maltese poodle, Mafia Honey, who was given to her by Frank Sinatra as a present.

There is no director attached at the moment so it will most likely be a long time until this movie gets made.

I don't know if I could see a movie told by a talking dog and take it very serious. I think they should cast Bette Midler as the poodle so she can voice another dog like she did in Oliver and Company.

More news later

Toy Story 3 Highest Grossing Animated Movie of All Time

It's Official!! Disney•Pixar's amazing Toy Story 3 has just crossed the $920 million globally, which means it has became the Highest Grossing Animated Film of All Time. It is absolutely amazing that a second sequel to a movie can become something this prestigious.

Toy Story 3 is on track to become Disney's 2nd film to pass $400 million domestically and become the 9th highest grossing film in United States by the end of Summer. Also, it is Disney's 4th highest grossing film globally.

Disney chairman Rich Ross released a statement on Friday about the great news and said:

“In 1995, the talented team at Pixar introduced a cowboy, a space ranger and their friends who have gone on to become some of the most beloved characters in the world. The success of Toy Story is due to the tremendously creative and innovative team at Pixar, led by John Lasseter and Ed Catmull, and our incredible marketing and distribution teams around the world. In Toy Story 3, director Lee Unkrich, producer Darla Anderson and the incredible team at Pixar have given audiences a film that continued the rich storytelling and character building that have become synonymous with every Pixar release.”

Toy Story 3 is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 2, 2010.

First Poster for The Town

Apple released the first poster for Ben Affleck's The Town and it is cool and creepy at same time.

Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang's latest job, when they briefly took a hostage--bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name...and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug...not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.

Here is link to the trailer for The Town.

The Town hits theaters on September 17, 2010.

New Live-Action Bugs Bunny Film Planned

Deadline says Warner Brothers will make a live-action Bugs Bunny film for theatrical release sometime in near future.

Screenwriter David Berenbaum (Elf, Spiderwick Chronicles) has been hired to write the film with intentions to make it like their upcoming film Yogi Bear by blending live-action with CGI.

Bugs Bunny with Michael Jordan and Bill Murray in Space Jam

I have mixed feelings about bringing Bugs Bunny into the CGI realm. I just can't picture him looking like Bugs.

Also, it will mark the first time he has been on the big screen since Looney Tunes: Back in Action back in 2003 and Bugs just had his 70th birthday a little bit ago.

Star Wars Coming to Blu-ray Fall 2011

LucasFilms Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox officially announced today that the all live-action Star Wars films will finally get released on Blu-ray sometime around Fall 2011. The films will be released as commemorative box set. I am so excited.

Note: Picture is not of real Blu-ray Box art and are "fan" made.

The amazing news was announced at the Celebration V festival and the details are  "the highest possible picture and audio presentation, along with extensive special features – including documentaries, vintage behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, retrospectives and never-before-seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives."

George Lucas must be a huge fan of Blu-ray now because he said “Blu-ray is the absolute best way to experience Star Wars at home – in pristine high definition,” said George Lucas of the release, “The films have never looked or sounded better.”

No, news has been released on if the movies will be the original theatrical versions or the special editions from the 90's. I think they should have a poll and see which versions the fans want released.

Karl Urban is Judge Dredd

A couple of weeks ago, there was rumors that the new Judge Dredd has been cast and it was the New Zealand actor Karl Urban's (Red, Star Trek) name that kept popping up. They were just rumors at the time and the casting of Urban was confirmed by the Judge Dredd producers Andrew MacDonald and Allon Reich in an interview by Empire.

They said: “The main thing about Dredd is that it’s a fantastic comic that was completely messed up 20 years ago. Our idea is to make a very hard, R-rated, gritty, realistic movie of Dredd in Megacity, so we’ve got to get the tone right. He’s not going to take off his helmet. His bike is going to feel real. He’s going to hit people and it’s going to feel real. There’s been a change in comic-book movies; they were treated unseriously and now they’re treated seriously."

This is the big news "We’ve cast a guy called Karl Urban to play Dredd."

Here is an interesting bit of information: "We’ll be shooting in Johannesburg, it’s being directed by Pete Travis, we’re shooting with the people who did District 9 – and if we get it right, Alex has a couple of ideas for other stories as well. It’s not based on any one comic, and John Wagner is involved in every decision."

I think is great news from every aspect of casting, keeping helmet on full time, gritty and shooting with District 9 people.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World Movie Review

"Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World proves that there is still some originality left in filmmaking and is one of the best films of the year."

DIRECTOR: Edgar Wright

CAST: Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Anna Kendrick, Mae Whitman and Mark Webber

PLOT: In Toronto, 22-year-old Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is the bass guitarist for the band Sex Bob-omb and has just met the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Scott learns that he must battle Ramona's seven evil exes, who are coming to kill him, to finally win Ramona's heart. As Scott gets closer to Ramona, his encounters include skateboarders, vegan rock stars, and identical twins.

REVIEW

I never read the graphic novels because I am not really into eastern art style comics. I'm more of Marvel or DC fan, but I am very willing to read comics with that art style now that I've seen this movie.

The best part of this movie is how the film plays out like levels in a video-game and get more epic as it goes along. The movie starts out being more like a comedy and not much action then out of nowhere comes awesome action. At that moment with the action, I realized that this movie pulled off something that many filmmakers have tried to achieve and failed, that something is letting the plot involve romance, action and comedy in 2 hours or less and not mess it up. I have to give a hand to director Edgar Wright for pulling that one off.

The script was written with very quirky one-liners and dialogue in general. I think most High School and College students will appreciate the humor and reference to video games, but older folks will think they are pointless and not as funny. Although, the battle scenes will most likely be the part that older people like because they are flashy, fast paced, super colorful and epic. So, saying that about the battles will show that it will be liked by little 12 year old kids too.

Video game references have never been, well referenced as much as they are in this movie. If you are a fan of the 8-bit era then you will love some of the gags, for example, an 8-bit version of the universal Logo and song was in the beginning and then again later with the introduction of Lucas Lee. Another cool game related thing is when the bad guys get killed they turn into coins, I really thought that was awesome.

The romantic side of the film has to be a strong point in the movie because it goes in directions you wouldn't really expect and that was pretty original. I am a huge fan of Mary Elizabeth Winstead and I loved her character's mysterious past and personality in general. The ending was starting to go in a direction I never even thought it would, but ended up the way I knew it would end up going.

ACTING: As I said before I am a huge fan of Mary Elizabeth Winstead and she was perfect for the part of Ramona Flowers. She has that mysterious look and you know she doesn't want to take crap from anybody. I really liked her character and she was the best in my mind.

On the other hand you have the same awkward looking Michael Cera and he plays a similar character to many of his past films, but that would be a little expected. Nobody would really ever think of Michael acting any different and it works for him and for me in most of his films. Michael Cera was the obvious choice for Scott Pilgrim and the only person I could think of too.

There was some sparks between Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, which is really hard to find in movies in todays world.

The rest of the cast is just as good as them and I was so glad to see some actors have longer roles than I thought they would, for example Brandon Routh was just awesome and had a pretty long role, along with Jason Schwartzman.

PERSONAL NOTE: I really want to personally thank Edgar Wright for giving these amazing actors a role in this awesome movie and he made older video-games cool again. Also, I really was surprised with the absolutely spectacular cameo of my favorite actor and I won't give the surprise cameo away, but I had a "Nerdgasm" when he came on-screen. I am a huge fan of his comic-book movie.

FINAL THOUGHT: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is as the poster says "An epic of epic epicness." If you love video-games and the over-the-top battle scenes then you will love this movie. The acting is great with an amazing cast and never feels boring. The film is filled with many things not seen on film very often and is eye candy from the colors to the cool "sound clouds" when noises are made.

You may not like this movie if your of the older generation, but it would be the worst movie you have seen and if your in High School or College then this film is right up your alley.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World

First Skyline Trailer

Universal Studios has debuted the first trailer for Colin and Greg Strause's alien film Skyline. I have been wanting to see something for this movie since it was shown at Comic-Con last month. I am impressed with the brothers work because I'm not a fan of AVP:R.

Directed by the Strause Brothers and starring Eric Balfour, Donald Faison, Scottie Thompson and Brittany Daniel.

Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

Skyline flies into theaters on November 12, 2010.

Does it look cool or is it just another boring alien invasion movie? Tell us.
