Animated Movies are hard to make. They take anywhere from 2-4 years to complete, which is a lot longer than normal production films. So Disney and Pixar plan a few years ahead for their blockbuster films. Today they announced they have dates set for these future films that may or may not even be thought of yet. The eight films, scheduled for dates between 2016-2018 will be split even at 4 each, per a studio. Remember these dates aren't really set in stone and are more of a "get this done by around this time" kind of thing.
