Pacific Rim Viral Marketing Is Very Awesome with Kaiju Attack and Blueprints

I have seen some pretty awesome Viral Marketing in my day, since way back before Cloverfield or TDK, and Pacific Rim viral is starting up to a pretty good high and I sense it will only get better.

This week has been big for Guillermo Del Toro's Pacific Rim. So here are all the biggest viral events this week starting with an  Kaiju Emergecy System Test and blueprints to a Jaeger (giant robot). Then earlier today another video, this time a news event story in the vein of Cloverfield was released showing our first look at the giant monsters Kaijus. Also, more blueprints of other Jaegers that are in russian and japanese (blueprints are great aren't they?) and a cool letter from the British Air Command.

Check it all out here with trailers and blue prints, oh and that letter. So much stuff to get through!

Here are all the gloriously blue Blueprints of the Giant Robots called Jaegers

Who Knew? Gotham High Parody Trailer is Amazing

I've seen some pretty cool parody trailers, I've seen some pretty horrible parody trailers, but this parody trailer is pretty awesome! It is a bunch of high school movies starring, well all the big people that eventually went on to star in The Dark Knight Trilogy. I've never thought about how they all starred in high school themed movies before.

The trailer is so real like that people keep commenting asking if this is real, and I have to admit it looks legit, if I haven't seen all the original movies they took the scenes from. Also, make sure to see who the girl truly is at the end of the trailer. Pretty interesting little fact.

Here is the parody trailer for Gotham High which is not coming out in 2013.

Top 10 DC Comic Characters Deserving a TV Show

DC Comics is getting around pretty good these last couple of years with getting some truly great tv shows out there that have a strong fan base and great stories to tell. They just kicked off the newer series Arrow on CW and it is a surprise hit, being Green Arrow isn't a household name like Superman or Batman. So it gets you thinking what shows could they potentially develop that isn't based on the core characters of the universe (Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, etc…). Here is the list of some lesser known characters that deserve to have their own primetime showing on the small screen to get their story out there and told.

10. Grifter

Cole Cash (Grifter) is a very cool person with a cool story. He is a little lesser known then the rest of the people on the list because he is fairly new and recently brought into the DC universe after Wildstorm went down the drain. He could be a great character for tv with his crazy action oriented life. He is on run from the government, the aliens that abducted him, and even his own brother who is tasked with finding him.

9. Cyborg

We have seen the funny Cyborg on Teen Titans before and love him, we seen him on Smallville played by the Famous Jet Jackson (anybody besides me love this tv show? come on)  but we need to see the badass Cyborg on the small screen. We need a sweet origins story and time to get to know him. His character is one with an odd beginning as a science experiment for his parents.

8. Lobo

Intergalactic Bounty hunter with attitude. Lobo is one cool dude that has one of the best sense of humors in DC and most badassness in the closets dimensions. He would be fantastic for having monsters of the week episodes of bounties. Just think of the possibilities. He made a brief appearance in the 90's Superman tv series and I will always have that memory close to my geek heart.

7. Animal Man

Buddy Baker is a great hero, family man, and deals with some scary stuff. He was never a big hero in the first 20 years of his existence, but with a big revamp in late 80's he became huge. He was an everyday man with a family. Animal Man could be a great tv series that deals with family drama and some great action and heroics.

6. Jonah Hex

I'm quite honestly surprised that they have not tried to give this westerner his own tv series. He is perfect to compete against AMC shows like Hell on Wheels. Jonah Hex is a great character that has many layers under his skin. He is a great anti-hero that protect and avenges the innocent in the old west. Have a big baddie in a season and have some freak of the week episodes and perfect.

Check out the Top 5 because they get way better

Mark Wahlberg Cast in Transformers 4 Now, Thanks Internet!

Well just thank you internet for getting Mark Wahlberg cast in Michael Bay's Transformers 4. It was rumored a few weeks ago that Mark Wahlberg was in talks to star in the fourth Transformers film. Then Michael Bay denied the rumors saying he was talking with Mark on a separate film because he had a lot of fun with him on Pain and Gain.

Earlier this week, Bay announced a little tease saying "Let's say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas…so I'm here to say thanks internet chatter."That was obviously a nod to Marky Mark and T4. Then he fully announced it with a brand new logo and saying "Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on 'Pain and Gain' and I'm so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers' legacy."

Editorial: Who Should Direct Star Wars: Episode 7?

Last week the huge news broke that Disney bought Lucasfilm from George Lucas and that Star Wars: Episode 7 will be happening very soon. 2015 to be exact! So with no director attached to the project ,after Lucas refuses to do anything, we have an opening that needs to be filled by someone with a true vision and can accomplish a great sic-fi opera film. So who could make the cut? Who has the guts to try ? Here is the short list of known directors I believe could take over the series and try to transform it into a new classic trilogy. Some of them are established in the sic-fi ranks, while some are a bit out there in style and emotion but could have the goods somewhere. Here is the list in no real particular order.

Jon Favreau

Jon is one of the best men for the job for numerous reasons. He is a nerd with a sense of humor and vision of action and sic-fi. He is perfect for getting the tech and cgi looking amazing, all while being able to have great characters and development. He approached Iron Man with a vision and changed Marvel films for the best. He could very well make a character like Hans Solo come alive and have attitude. Already directed Ford before, again would be a no brainer. I am rooting for him to at least try and come up with a pitch to direct it. He has the goods.

Matthew Vaughn

Vaughn is a more natural person for doing a fun role then some because he gets action, he gets humor, he gets awesomeness, most importantly he gets fans. He brought the world the legendary Kick-Ass and made it more mainstream for people and fans adored it just the same. He took over the reigns of X-Men from Bryan Singer and made a classic and one of best in series. If he took over for the Star Wars films he would be very conscious of what we want and what will be awesome on film. Expect great action and great characters. Also, I have big hunches he will be one of the finalist for the job because he recently backed out of X-Men and I wonder if this is the reason why? hmmmm.

Neil Blomkamp

This man is probably one of the biggest nerds making movies right now. I mean this guy spent years perfecting the Halo movie to be made and it got scrapped but that didn't stop him from making one hell of a good sic-fi movie with District 9. He works amazing with cgi effects and could bring the creatures and landscape to life with great direction no problem. He is a huge nerd and, even better, he is a true visionary. Expect big things from this man in the next few years with some original sic-fi films.

Duncan Jones

To me, Jones is more like retro George Lucas than anyone else on this list because of his films to date. He is one of the only people making films to use models and they look damn good. Moon is one stunning film story and visually wise and reminds me how Lucas used to be back in beginnings with THX 1138 and Star Wars. Jones isn't very mainstream..yet, but he will make his mark soon and he could very well help bring Star Wars back to its roots of story and great practical effects with cgi mixed in.

Did I miss your vote for director? I have a few more names after the jump for you if your interested…

Jamie Foxx Might Be Electro in 'Spider-Man 2'?

Sony is setting up 'The Amazing Spider-man 2' pretty fast already. The first one isn't even out on video yet, but sources are reporting that Sony is in early talks to get the comedian Jamie Foxx to star as the baddie Electro. Little bit out there but I can see it working out.

The villain Electro hasn't made his way to the big screen..yet, while I would contribute it to him not being a famous known villain to modern fans maybe because of the uhmm lets say corny costume. Don't Get me wrong the guy is a major bad guy with gaining his powers to control electricity from getting struck by lightning. Pretty badass.

In the post-credit scene of The Amazing Spider-Man, Dr. Conners is visited by an unseen person asking if Peter found out the truth about his father. The really big easter egg in the scene may be the bad lightning happening in the background. Pretty big giveaway I would say.

Jamie Foxx seems to be more accepting of the rumors without saying they're false, but rather tweeting a pretty funny tweet that either makes him a) a funny sarcastic guy that goes along with rumors to make fans freakout about the tease or b) he is fully saying yes they are true. I'm leaning towards b for the time being but comedians are just that a funny guy.
