Marvel and Fox might Swap Comic Book Characters! Story so far

This is some pretty cool and weird tactics for Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox (Fox) to get the best out of a deal over some comic book character like Daredevil and Galactus!

This whole fiasco started years ago when Marvel sold out the rights for its characters to big studios to make films. Well, in those contracts the characters will revert back to Marvel if a film based on the character is not made by a certain date. In this case, Daredevil is owned by Fox for now until October 10th this year, unless a film is in production of some sorts. Of course Fox doesn't want to rush into a big speed version of film making to produce a crap film to keep the rights. They have been in negoations of sorts with Marvel to offer a trade of characters for extended time period to make Daredevil. The characters are pretty good card for Fox to pull if they decide to play.

Marvel came up with a smart deal to get Fox to offer Marvel some Fantastic Four characters (not the core team) in that universe in exchange for a extended deadline for Daredevil. The big trade would bring the huge giant Galactus back to Marvel. This would allow for them to put him in later films, maybe even the Phase 2 Avenger films as a big villain. Marvel would really like to acquire Silver Surfer with the deal, but he is currently locked up in development of the Fantastic Four film currently in pre-production with director Josh Trank (Chronicle). This could be great news for Fox who is in talks with director Joe Carnahan (The Grey) for Daredevil.

Cool International Looper Poster

A pretty awesome Quad international poster has been released for Rian Johnson's new film Looper. This film has great potential to become one of the years best films and maybe on top of time travel film list (can't beat Back To The Future). The film starts Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Piper Perabo and Jeff Daniels.

In the future, time travel will be invented - but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" - a hired gun, like Joe - is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe's future self for assassination.

Looper travels into theaters on September 28

First Trailer for The Dark Knight Returns

DC animated films will get a brand new film in its catalog with an adaptation of Frank Miller's  Batman: The Dark Knight Returns with "Part I" getting released on September 25th on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download.

I'm super excited about this film because its based on maybe the greatest Batman story to date and it will have Robocop himself Peter Weller as the aging Bruce Wayne/Batman. Also, the great Bruce Timm is producing this and that means it will be great and true to source material. The greatest part of film is, expect 2 parts to this truly epic story. That is the best move possible for a story this grand.

Here is official synopsis: ...it’s been a decade since Bruce Wayne hung up his cape, following most of the other superheroes who had been forced into retirement. Facing the downside of middle age, a restless Bruce Wayne pacifies his frustration with race cars and liquor – but the bat still beckons as he watches his city fall prey to gangs of barbaric criminals known as The Mutants.

The return of Harvey Dent as Two-Face finally prompts Wayne to once again don the Dark Knight’s cowl, and his dramatic capture of the villain returns him to crime-fighting – simultaneously making him the target of law enforcement and the new hope for a desolate Gotham City. Particularly inspired is a teenage girl named Carrie, who adopts the persona of Robin and ultimately saves Batman from a brutal attack by the Mutant leader. Armed with a new sidekick, and re-energized with a definitive purpose, the Dark Knight returns to protect Gotham from foes new...and old.

Comic-Con: Ant-Man Logo and Test Footage shown!!

A big surprise at Marvel's Hall H panel for Iron Man 3 was the appearance of director Edgar Wright taking the stage to talk about Ant-Man! He came out and talked about the film and said he had some test footage of it and was joking that the attendees wouldn't want to see blue screens and wires. He than presented some test footage!

The footage opened with Ant-Man in a room somewhere sitting on an air conditioner vent that ended up leading to a hallway that is being guarded by some kind of agents (likely Shield). The costume is of Ant-Man is clearing a mixture of the silver age with modern day one. You see him running down the hallway and morphed into normal size and startled the guards, then went down to ant size again to punch one in the face. He kicked both the guards butts and ended the scene with that.

Wright says he has no casting announcements yet, but that should change in near future! fingers crossed for Nathan Fillion.

Comic-Con: Titles Announced for Thor 2 and Captain America 2!!

Along with the previous news of Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel gave us official titles for two of the other upcoming films we have known about for a long time!

Thor sequel will be titled Thor: The Dark World! Also, they announced that Zachary Levi is taking over the role of Thandrel. This is pretty big news that we all knew was rumored and now proven. The title does sound pretty cool with a pretty sweet title card.

Next up was Captain America: The Winter Soldier! The title received great applause from Hall H today because fans of the comics will recognize the title because its a big story arc where Bucky Barnes comes back for a big role. Lets hope this film will be awesome as it sounds!

Comic-Con: Marvel Announces Guardians of the Galaxy with Concept Art!!

Marvel hit Hall H to have a panel on Iron Man 3, but knowing them they have a few surprises up their sleeves. They came out and master of Marvel, kevin Fiege announced four movies in development! He gave a title of the previously unannounced film Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm not very familiar with the comic book series or any of the characters, but the concept art they gave looks pretty awesome!

They announced that the team will consist of StarLord, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot!

Guardians of the Galaxy are hitting theaters on August 1, 2014

Comic-Con: Godzilla Panel and Poster

A very special surprise at Warner Bros. Hall H panel today was the very awesome trailer shown for Godzilla reboot! Directed by Gareth Edwards the reboot will be pay great homage to the original Japanese films.

The trailer that was shown at SDCC included footage of a city that was demolished and we see a giant monster body in the wreckage of the city. Then we hear the classic Godzilla scream while watching something big coming out of smoke and we see from behind its Godzilla's back all scaly. Then a shot of his face! Many say the face looks like the classic Zilla but with more meat to it.

The trailer is actually just test footage, but I hear it is quite amazing!! Gareth knows what he is doing and I can't wait to see where this film will go.

Comic-Con: Man of Steel Panel Recap!

After that spectacular first look at Pacific Rim we were blessed with first look at footage or anything of Zack Snyder's Superman reboot film Man of Steel! Snyder is no stranger to Comic-Con or Hall H with previous films Watchmen and Sucker Punch. We were finally blessed with a trailer of Man of Steel and  new poster (below).

The trailer that was shown started with a few shots around a farm and a young Clark Kent walking towards the woods with a bag. We hear a voice over with Clark Kent, Jor-El (Russell Crowe), Pa Kent (Kevin Costner) saying something about how people will be afraid of what they don't understand.

Next comes a few quick shots of Lois Lane kissing Superman, Jor-El, and a brief look at General Zod! (Snyder still won't admit he is the main villain). Then some more shots of Clark as a kid wearing a red towel. Then a scene where he is saving a school bus that crashed. Cut's to Clark seeing the ship in the barn and even meeting Jor-El in the Fortress of Solitude. A very quick shot at The Daily Planet in an elevator. The most sought after footage of Superman flying and going through the clouds.

The best news is to expect the trailer to be released before The Dark Knight Rises on Friday!!!

Comic-Con: FIrst Footage of Pacific Rim Screened!

The Mega 3 hour Warner Bros. panel in Hall H today is full of amazing surprises today starting the panel off with Guillmero del Toro's (GDT) baby Pacific Rim! The room was transformed into the command center with all the screens showing footage. Then we learned a lot about how the movie was being made with no motion capture because robots don't move like humans. Then the film uses a lot of practical effects.

The first clip is shown! It's basically the trailer but has the robots battling on different terrains. Than a giant monster attacking a bridge and so much more carnage! this movie is gonna be amazing and original! I can't wait to get a official trailer for the film in future.

GDT said that after Comic-Con the press for Pacific Rim will go in "radio-silence mode" for the rest of year. That blows considering everyone (including me) would love to see a trailer for this film in near future. Hey, we always might get bootleg versions still hmm!!

Comic Con: First Look at Iron Man 3 Armor!!

Comic-Con has been in full swing for a few days now and so much information and announcements are bound to happen each day that it's been a little hard to keep up. Especially when my internet is out most of time during the worst week of all time! So I will try to get as many post in as possible and do a recap of day's biggest announcements. Bare with me on this endeavor. 

The Marvel Booth has the yearly display of the Iron Man Armor and today they surprised us with a new display of armor from Iron Man 3! The armor is a different look than what we are used too with changing the red with slight bit of gold into a mostly gold with some red in it. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of it, but it's not horrible. Check it out for yourself.
