Darren Afronofsky Exits The Wolverine

Director Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler) has announced today that he will have to exit as director of The Wolverine. This comes as a bit of a shock for me because it must be really hard for him to just leave. He has had so much input of the film.

Here is the official press release:

Afronofsky:  "As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of ‘The Wolverine’ would keep me out of the country for almost a year.  I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time.  I am sad that I won't be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again."

Twieneth Century Fox stated: "While we are of course disappointed that Darren can’t do ‘The Wolverine’, we also understand and respect his reasons.  Having done both ‘The Wrestler’ and ‘Black Swan’ with Darren, we know he is an extraordinary talent and we look forward to working with him on other projects in the future. Hugh Jackman and Fox both remain fully committed to making ‘The Wolverine’.  We will regroup and move forward aggressively."

So hopefully they can find a perfect replacement, but I was really looking forward to see his vision.

Mark Ruffalo is Hulk Now?

Deadline is reporting that Mark Ruffalo is in "Late-stage discussions" to take over the recently vacant role of The Incredible Hulk in The Avengers, which hits theaters on May 4, 2012.

This news comes after even bigger news that Edward Norton and Marvel's Kevin Feige confirmed that Norton will not return to play Bruce Banner in The Avengers. either was some bitter feud between Marvel and Norton or maybe Joss Wheadon didn't like him for the part. Who Knows the truth?

I think this choice is a little out there, but I am a fan of Mark Rufflo and I will give him a chance if everything plays out and he is cast officially.

What do you guys think about this weird news? Cast him or pass on him?

It's official that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been cast as a lead female in Transformers 3. Director Michael Bay released the official word about the casting on his official website. The two have worked together on Bay's Victoria's Secret "A Thousand Faces" ad. The casting has basically been confirmed by many sources, even Victoria's Secret released a video congratulating her.

Cowboys and Aliens Casting Change

The news that Robert Downey Jr. was leaving the Jon Favreau-directed movie Cowboys & Aliens made the studio not waste anytime on casting because Bond himself, Daniel Craig is stepping in Downey's place. The news isn't official yet, but he is in talks with the studios to star. Craig is probably the best replacement for Downey, but will he have a connection with Favreau, who is good friends with Downey. Only time will tell.
