Sylvester Stallone's Bullet to the Head Trailer!

Today is a great day for The Expendables crew with trailers being released for 2 of it's biggest stars newest action films. I posted earlier the trailer for Arnie's The Last Stand. Now, we get the first trailer for Stallone's delayed graphic novel adaptation Bullet to the Head. I will say I love they have Walter Hill directing an action film again and it has potential to be epic. 2013 will be the year of the 80's action.

Here is the trailer for Bullet to the Head hitting theaters on February 1, 2013

Trailer for Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand

Finally we get a trailer for Arnie's return film The Last Stand (fantastic title if I do say so myself) and it does have what you would expect, Plenty of action and one-liners and jokes about Arnie being old. Expect some good 80's action to come in 2013. Also, it could be good for business for me having this movie released. Come on people pushing wrong link and coming to this great site you should come back to time and time again.

Action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his much-anticipated return to the big screen in Korean director Kim Jee-woon's hard-hitting US directorial debut, The Last Stand. After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy. With the help of a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Peter Stormare), Cortez begins racing towards the US-Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a hostage in tow.

The Last Stand hits theaters in 2013

Daredevil going to Marvel, Director Joe Carnahan Pitch

It's been a long last week with Daredevil being the center of attention for 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios. Like I posted last week with the Marvel Swap and earlier with Daredevil being dead. Now, its basically official that Daredevil is going home to Marvel! or at least Variety says so.

Reports say that the extension on the deadline for the film by 20th Century Fox was rejected. So with no time to get the film set up after they turned down the pitch by Joe Carnahan.

Joe Carnahan did release some trailers he put together and had shown them to studio executives on monday. They include the PG-13 and NC-17 trailers with little difference, but a very cool idea of it being in the 70's. The trailer just puts scenes from movies and comics together to give a feel for what it would be like. Not bad if I do say so.

Here are the pitch videos that Joe said went over great with everyone but just wasn't the right time. I say give the same pitch to Marvel in 2 months while wearing a Marvel/ Howard Duck shirt to show your a true fan. They will love it.

Gamescom: Injustice: Gods Among Us Trailer

A brand-new trailer from Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertaiment's new "Mortal Kombat" fighting style game Injustice: Gods Among Us gets a brand-new Catwoman themed trailer today. I have to say the game looks really good better than DC Vs. Mortal Kombat.

The game is made by NetherRealm, who make the Mortal Kombat games. So expect some awesomeness. The cast of characters include Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy and many others. This is epic.

Here is the trailer

Daredevil Reboot is Dead Now?

Okay Okay last week I did an article about the swap between Marvel and 20th Century Fox that might happen. Well..that whole story is possibly dead just from one tweet from potential Daredevil director Joe Carnahan.

There has been reports that Fox was "luke warm" about the deal and maybe wanted to work it out, if Marvel wanted to co-finance the reboot. I think those plans all went south.

Joe Carnahan tweeted last night "Think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids.

We Shall see. Time is NOT on anyone's side."

Time is ticking away 20th Century Fox only 2 months until October 10th. My guess is Daredevil will finally be heading home to Marvel. This has had a surge of acceptance from fans, but I think the blind lawyer has better chance at a studio not owned by Disney. I don't want a kiddie Daredevil movie at all or in The Avengers line-up for that matter. We will wait and see what 20th Century Fox does soon enough.

First Red Dawn Trailer

The first trailer for the very long delayed remake film Red Dawn has finally hit the web and I will say it actually looks pretty awesome! I had doubts over the past few years.

Red Dawn is a remake of the classic 1984 film, but the plot has been updated because the Cold War isn't going on anymore.(or is it?! hmm). The main invaders were China but they noticed China is big factor in box office so they changed them to North Korea. I think it was a good choice for this film to be delayed because Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are big stars now and can bank off that. (Sorry skinny Josh from Drake & Josh and Conner Cruise).

In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

Red Dawn invades into theaters on November 21st    GO Wolverines!!!

Ben Affleck Directing and Starring in Justice League Film?

I know you are likely scratching your head after reading that the guy from Gigli or Mall Rats is in the eyes of Warner Bros. to direct the highly anticipated superhero film Justice League! Well, it isn't that far fetched with Affleck becoming a very serious director in recent years with some critically popular films Gone Baby Gone and The Town. He has become one of hollywoods most sought after directors and he does come with a plus (or minus), he will only direct movies he stars in also to some capacity. So expect him to suit up likely.

Affleck, at the moment, is the only person the Will Beall (Gangster Squad) written Justice League script was sent to. This is a big move on Warner Bros. to show such hope that he will accept. The script was completed last summer but has been saved until they decided on who to offer the film to and it will bring DC Comics biggest heroes together including Batman, Superman, Green lantern, Wonder Woman, and The Flash. That is going to be one epic hero film that will rival The Avengers in all aspects. The craziest part is they are eying a possible Summer 2015 release date!!

I think this could be a mistake since we don't have any Marvel set-up with single films before hand. It could be smart for Warner Bros. to decide to have 2 films each year starting with Superman next year and have a film by 2018. Gives more time to tie the worlds together and give characters origins (excluding Superman and Batman). America needs some Flash and Wonder Woman introduction.

The only hold-up that could effect Ben from taking the job is the commitment. He is a high demand director and actor at the moment and if he took the job, it would put him unavailable as director the next couple of years. He still would be able to act in other films, likely, but limited number of time away from film.

The coolest part about it maybe coming in 2015 is it will square off agaist Joss Whedon's The Avengers 2. This could end up becoming the biggest battle ever at box office and nerds will rejoice everywhere.

Affleck is supposed to meet with Warner Bros. later this week to talk about it and maybe soon we get a decision on what he shall chose. I'm all for it!!!

First Kick-Ass 2 Banner!!

Although, Kick-Ass 2 won't start production until around September, it's never to early start marketing. A banner was released a couple of days ago on the official Kick-Ass Facebook page, but just randomly disappeared until earlier.

The banner doesn't release anything expect adding some lettering to the title and a release date!! Are you ready for it?! it comes out on….(in)….2013!! So no official release date other than next year. It's not much but it is showing the film is moving forward and more cast members are getting contracted.

Kick-Ass 2 kicks into theaters in 2013

Marvel and Fox might Swap Comic Book Characters! Story so far

This is some pretty cool and weird tactics for Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox (Fox) to get the best out of a deal over some comic book character like Daredevil and Galactus!

This whole fiasco started years ago when Marvel sold out the rights for its characters to big studios to make films. Well, in those contracts the characters will revert back to Marvel if a film based on the character is not made by a certain date. In this case, Daredevil is owned by Fox for now until October 10th this year, unless a film is in production of some sorts. Of course Fox doesn't want to rush into a big speed version of film making to produce a crap film to keep the rights. They have been in negoations of sorts with Marvel to offer a trade of characters for extended time period to make Daredevil. The characters are pretty good card for Fox to pull if they decide to play.

Marvel came up with a smart deal to get Fox to offer Marvel some Fantastic Four characters (not the core team) in that universe in exchange for a extended deadline for Daredevil. The big trade would bring the huge giant Galactus back to Marvel. This would allow for them to put him in later films, maybe even the Phase 2 Avenger films as a big villain. Marvel would really like to acquire Silver Surfer with the deal, but he is currently locked up in development of the Fantastic Four film currently in pre-production with director Josh Trank (Chronicle). This could be great news for Fox who is in talks with director Joe Carnahan (The Grey) for Daredevil.

More of the crazy deal after the jump

Cool International Looper Poster

A pretty awesome Quad international poster has been released for Rian Johnson's new film Looper. This film has great potential to become one of the years best films and maybe on top of time travel film list (can't beat Back To The Future). The film starts Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Piper Perabo and Jeff Daniels.

In the future, time travel will be invented - but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" - a hired gun, like Joe - is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe's future self for assassination.

Looper travels into theaters on September 28

First Trailer for The Dark Knight Returns

DC animated films will get a brand new film in its catalog with an adaptation of Frank Miller's  Batman: The Dark Knight Returns with "Part I" getting released on September 25th on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download.

I'm super excited about this film because its based on maybe the greatest Batman story to date and it will have Robocop himself Peter Weller as the aging Bruce Wayne/Batman. Also, the great Bruce Timm is producing this and that means it will be great and true to source material. The greatest part of film is, expect 2 parts to this truly epic story. That is the best move possible for a story this grand.

Here is official synopsis: ...it’s been a decade since Bruce Wayne hung up his cape, following most of the other superheroes who had been forced into retirement. Facing the downside of middle age, a restless Bruce Wayne pacifies his frustration with race cars and liquor – but the bat still beckons as he watches his city fall prey to gangs of barbaric criminals known as The Mutants.

The return of Harvey Dent as Two-Face finally prompts Wayne to once again don the Dark Knight’s cowl, and his dramatic capture of the villain returns him to crime-fighting – simultaneously making him the target of law enforcement and the new hope for a desolate Gotham City. Particularly inspired is a teenage girl named Carrie, who adopts the persona of Robin and ultimately saves Batman from a brutal attack by the Mutant leader. Armed with a new sidekick, and re-energized with a definitive purpose, the Dark Knight returns to protect Gotham from foes new...and old.

Here is trailer and box art for Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Oh and expected Part II in early 2013.
