Toy Story 3 Sets Pixar Record

Toy Story 3 has an estimated Weekend box office total of $109 million and that means it's a new opening weekend record for Pixar films. The previous holder was 2004's The Incredibles with $70.5 million. Also, only the third animated film to open over $100 million behind Shrek the Third with $121.6 million and Shrek 2 with $108 million.

This shows you that "threequels" are not bad at all if they are thought out and made with heart. Also, everybody still loves Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang.

In other news Comic-book film Jonah Hex tanks at box office with just a measly $5 million. That pretty funny considering director Jimmy Hayward used to be an animator on Pixar films including Toy Story 2. At least he had a hit with Horton Hears a Who! back in 2008 with about $300 million. Maybe he should just stick to animated family films.
