It's Thursday time for Daily Movie News

* Warner Home Video has announced that "Halo Legends" will be released in the form of seven animated short films on February 9, 2010 on Blu-Ray and DVD. Based one of the worlds most popular video-game franchises, these CG and traditional anime short films will be rated PG-13. They will take you deeper into the world of "Halo".

*Warner Home Video also announced that "The Final Destination" will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD on January 5th, 2010. For a limited time, the Blu-Ray edition will come with the 2D and 3D version of film with 3D glasses. Also the Blu-Ray edition will get 2 alternate endings and a Digital Copy of film.

* Zach Galifianakis is in talks to voice Humpty Dumpty in the Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots. The spin-off will star Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek in a story about the events leading up to the feline assassin's first meeting with Shrek. Chris Miller (Shrek the Third) is directing and writing the screenplay for a November 4th, 2011 release.

* French director Pierre Morel (Taken) signed on to direct Signals, based on a original thriller screenplay written by Richard Potter and Matthew Stavitz. The plot is secret, but rumored to be on the tone of a 1970's era paranoid thriller like Three Days of the Condor.

* Megastar Johnny Depp is in talks to join Angelina Jolie in The Tourist. Depp would play an American tourist drawn into a web of intrigue by a female interpol agent (Jolie) ,who is attempting to located a criminal that was once her lover.  Depp is replacing Sam Worthington (Avatar), who dropped out due to creative differences along with director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men) is in early talks to take over as director.
